RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to leave post at end of month

Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel will reportedly leave the post at the end of this month.
The New York Times reported Tuesday evening that Ms. McDaniel had told former President Donald Trump that she will leave shortly after the Feb. 24 South Carolina presidential primary.
The Times cited “two people familiar with the plans.”
According to the Times. Ms. McDaniel will be replaced by Michael Whatley, chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, at Mr. Trump’s behest.

“Whatley served as a federal law clerk, senior official in the George W. Bush administration, and as chief of staff for U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole.” This does not fill me with confidence. Trump is pushing for Michael Whatley which can only mean one thing: Trump will be calling Whatley some pejorative inane name by mid November. “Then there’s Michael Nutley, Michael Mcmuttley. I was never for him.”
