What is the point of the exercise? Mayorkas will survive when it reaches the Senate anyway. You don’t have 2/3 votes in the Senate to remove him.

Well, there’s that theory (good most of the time); and there’s the theory that you should put everybody on record, even if the vote is lost. Sometimes you just want to know whom to primary.
