DA Fani Willis personally helping with Friday court response to affair allegations in election case

Embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is personally helping to prepare a court response due Friday against a bid to have part of the Georgia election fraud case tossed based on her alleged affair with the lead prosecutor she appointed — a claim she may not even deny, sources said.

Willis’ office has until Friday to file papers opposing Donald Trump co-defendant Mike Roman’s attempt to have the criminal charges against him dropped on conflict-of-interest grounds based on Willis’ alleged affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Roman’s lawyer claimed that Willis paid Wade an unusually high salary to lead the case against Trump — and his 14 co-defendants — despite Wade’s lack of prosecutorial experience and she then benefited from his pay when he treated her to vacations. Other defendants including the former president have since joined in Roman’s motion.

Willis has personally helped to compose her office’s written response to the motions and she may not even address the affair allegations — but will instead focus on the legal problems with the arguments, CNN reported, citing sources.

Some lawyers belong in the courtroom. Other lawyers should be behind a desk. Then there is Fanni Willis, who belongs in handcuffs.

Part of the Willis letter to the court , which she helped write, has been leaked. The Willis contribution reads as follows:

“For calling me out, you be racist.”

Hood rats and Hoochie Mammas. Any maze they enter soon finds them with their romantic interests, nieces and nephews, car leases, wardrobes, jewelry, bling, vacations, and beauty treatments, all a taxpayer supported expense.

There was a name for it in the 70's but I can't repeat it here.

You she bought and paid for her man with government money and then he held his nose and paid her back. So sad this man is such a dog he had to sniff around some old woman who was so corrupt he had to bed her to get the job. He knew where his bread was buttered. Too bad that between himself and Fanni that they managed to not save enough of the money he was making to share a little bit with his wife. Until the divorce goes through, a man with average intelligence would pay his wife something. By the time it was public news he was getting paid north of 700,000 USD, his wife got curious to see where all that money was going. It was going to Carnival Cruise Lines for two, to Vagas, to dinner, to hotels and to Fanni.

Now even a stuipd man knowing he was in the spotlight with a high profile case would at least try to be indescreet... but not (can we call him Ms. Willis?) him or Fanni, as they proceeded to live it up.

Fani and her man are two the most stupid criminals on the planet. High profile case. In the public eye. I guess when you have been corrupt and about the law in your jurisdiction you get so comfortable with the “Democrat Way”. Seeing Ms. Pelosi & family, Mitt Romney & family, Joe Biden& family - well you just know that NO ONE CAN OR WILL TOUCH YOU.

She might be better off hiring competent counsel to prepare the defense.

Has anyone not heard the legal adage, “The man who defends himself in court has a fool for a lawyer and a jackass for a client.”

You can't really blame people like Fani and Claudine Gay for their behavior. The Woke/DEI culture (created and managed by elite white folks) told them that they were stars just because of their race...that they could do no wrong.

And now they be paraded out like pariahs and lepers for just doin' what they wuz taught.

Just goes to show, "You can never trust Whitey."

Honest Services fraud under Title 18 U.S. Code 1346 is a federal crime involving the misuse of an individual’s position or authority for personal gain or advantage.

It can be committed by public officials, corporate officers, and private individuals with fiduciary duties to another person or entity.

Since 18 U.S.C. 1346 was implemented, case law has clarified that honest services fraud must include some bribe or kickback to be considered a crime. (Skrilling v. United States, 2010) Thus, honest services fraud involves three entities:

Someone offering a bribe or kickback;
Someone accepting the bribe or kickback; and
A victim—someone deprived of the intangible right of honest services due to the bribe or kickback.

As an extension of the mail and wire fraud statutes, honest services fraud can be severely penalized upon conviction. The possible penalties are as follows:

For general instances of honest services fraud: Fines of up to $250,000 and up to 20 years in federal prison;
For instances of honest services fraud that involve a financial institution or which affect benefits being provided in a nationally declared disaster or emergency: Fines of up to $1 million and up to 30 years in federal prison.

Angry residents demand probe into DA Fani Willis’ ‘funny business’ at fiery district meeting

nypost.com, By Social Links for Megan Palin, Jan 25, 2024

Fani Willis, accused of affair with Trump prosecutor, vowed to not date staff in 2020: ‘Certainly inappropriate.’ Fani Willis cloaks herself in God and race to say she’s above criticism.

Residents of Fulton County, Georgia, called for district Attorney Fani Willis to be investigated at a fiery meeting of the county’s Board of Commissioners on Wednesday.

During the public input section of the meeting, residents zeroed in on Willis and her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who was paid almost $700,000 to investigate election fraud in the county.

Fani, said to be in a relationship with Wade, stands accused of then benefitting by him taking her on lavish trips paid for with the money earned from the county.

“I’m done with Fulton County fumbling our elections… I’m disgusted…at the DA’s apparent love affair with the Special Prosecutor … the gross mismanagement of taxpayer dollars,” resident Derrick Blassingame told attendees, who applauded his remarks.

Several other residents who spoke during the meeting also called for an investigation into Willis’ use of county funds as part of her investigation into interference in the 2020 presidential election, a case which involves former President Donald Trump and over a dozen co-defendants.

Resident Kevin Muldowney, claimed: “It has also come to light special prosecutor Wade billed the county for 24 hours in a single day, I guess his outstanding stamina was a prerequisite for his position.

“Fulton County commissioners never approved the hiring but paid him anyway … I am requesting this board perform a full audit of [Willis’] entire budget.

“It seems she has wasted a ton of taxpayer dollars on non-county business, not to mention the taxpayer dollars spent on Fani’s funny business,” he told the panel.

Another attendee, who wore a wig and glasses to remain “incognito,” pulled a hot dog out of a bag labelled ‘Nathans’ and began to wave it around at the panel.

The remarks came after Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, described accusations of misconduct by the District Attorney prosecuting Trump election interference cases in the state as “deeply troubling,” to The Post.

Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis is targeting DA Fani Willis in a probe over allegations she misused taxpayer funds.

“These allegations are deeply troubling and evidence should be presented quickly in order for [presiding] Judge McAfee to rule and the public to have confidence in this trial moving forward,” the governor’s office said in a statement to The Post.

Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis has also launched an investigation and demanded Willis account for how all of the public money her office has spent.

In the note, Ellis asked Willis whether she received gifts from Wade and requested a tranche of documents for full transparency.

“These were fairly straightforward requests which any elected official who is entrusted with public funds should supply that information back,” Ellis wrote.

Ellis, a Republican, said the inquiry into Willis, who is a Democrat, is non-partisan.

Trump has been hit with racketeering charges in Willis’ case against him and other co-defendants under Georgia’s RICO Act.

“We’re talking about numbers, we’re talking about dollars, we’re talking about facts,” he said.

“We’re not talking partisan, we’re not talking race. We’re talking about the citizens’ money and whether it is being used in the way it was intended.”

The co-prosecutors were first accused of having an “improper” relationship in a motion filed earlier this month by Michael Roman, one of Donald Trump’s co-defendants in Willis’ Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act probe.

Roman’s lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, accused Willis and Wade of having “violated laws regulating the use of public monies, suffer from irreparable conflicts of interest, and have violated their oaths of office under the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disqualified from prosecuting this matter.”

Credit card statements filed in the case of Wade’s divorce from his wife showed he had purchased tickets for him and Willis to fly to San Francisco and Miami, but neither have publicly addressed whether they are in a relationship.

“Willis’ office has until Friday to file papers opposing Donald Trump co-defendant Mike Roman’s attempt to have the criminal charges against him dropped on conflict-of-interest grounds based on Willis’ alleged affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.”

It’s officially Georgia vs. Roman probably.

Even if Fani is dragged off in handcuffs, the case goes on until dropped (by her replacement).

When you a government official involved in a criminal conspiracy you can’t have just any lawyer coming in to take the case. Especially when the government is paying the lawyer

I suppose if she is going to argue that her love life and Mr. Wade’s hard earned paychecks are not legit legal issues, then she has to play the part to the hilt.

......lol, basically, though most Freepers love Trump, at least a few of them could probably be motivated to file criminal charges and prosecute him for $650,000 paid in cash payments in one year.

Many people would sue their own mother for that kind of money.

“Conflict of Interest”?????? Hell Yeah!!!

But Whoa!!! If you had to go to bed with Fanny, deal’s off!

Well for me, im not surprised. imo , and as you have seen in the news, many dei appointees from fed, state & local govt , university, hospital employees of any significance on down have in one way or another created a sotuation where they are either being investigated, impeached, discharged, fired and whatever.

Why? because they are dei people and not merit based hires who have demonstrated COMPETENCE in their chosen “ field” and I say field loosely.

I had a ball watching Chas Kennedy R- Louisiana question these numbnutz that the current admin recommended for hire esp. as fed judges. I really liked his techniques-one of them was him very gently leading them down the garden path
and then showing them by their answer- non- answer they didnt know jack shit and were completely out - somewhere in left field.

its the Peter Principle
