Biden holds six-point national lead over Trump, fueled by female voters: poll

President Biden has a significant lead over former President Donald Trump in the popular vote of a hypothetical 2024 matchup, a new national poll shows.

The Quinnipiac University survey shows Biden leading Trump 50% to 44% after the same poll had the incumbent edging out his rival, 47% to 46%, in December.

Biden’s strong numbers are driven by the support of 58% of female voters, 52% of independents and 62% of voters with college degrees.

“The gender demographic tells a story to keep an eye on,” said Quinnipiac polling analyst Tim Malloy.

“Propelled by female voters in just the past few weeks, the head-to-head tie with Trump morphs into a modest lead for Biden.”

By contrast, Trump wins male voters with 53% support in that demographic, but only captures 40% of independents.

No! It’s just that polls- good or bad- aren’t worth anything!
People have personal views on any given topic, but wonder how others by comparison. This brings about someone trying to guess public opinion with “scientific” methods. Except the methods aren’t scientific at all & are completely subjective. You can even get pole opposite results from changing the way a question is worded. In order to do an accurate poll, you’d have to know: ideological category, political party, who will show up to vote on election day, have they voted previously, what region or state, urban/suburban/rural, are they registered correctly, their race, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation/identity, economic class, job status, level of education, etc. You’d have to somehow know who will vote when the election happens & get the correct representative mixture. Polls, good or bad, are bogus because the only real way of polling people is to hold an election- assuming that it’s an honest election 🤔

Suddenly out of nowhere, we see a dramatic shift to Biden? BS. I’m not buying it.

Some of us have been predicting exactly this for quite a while. As soon as Trump clinched the nomination, we'd see the real polling.

You all got played like a fiddle.

"Quinnipiac Poll 10/19/2016 Hillary Clinton has a 7-point lead over Donald Trump nationally, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday."

Excellent post. Qpac was deep into a double-digit Cankles lead at one point in the middle of the debates.

"Unfortunately, Morning Consult is not even top 100, whereas Quinnipiac is #15."

You can't be serious.

"In January 2023, The Daily Beast reported that the [538] website was on the "chopping block" amid cost-cutting measures by ABC News, and a sale of the website was being considered.

It also noted that several key employees including managing editor Micah Cohen, politics editor Sarah E. Frostenson and sports editor Sara Ziegler had left the website and their positions had not been filled.

In April 2023, Silver announced that he would be leaving the site amid layoffs at ABC News, who said the website would be "streamlined" ahead of the 2024 election cycle; editor Chadwick Matlin was also laid off."

According to Silver, two thirds of FiveThirtyEight's staff were cut in one day. Since the layoffs, FiveThirtyEight's sports and science coverage has ground to a halt, with the website mostly returning to its roots of exclusive politics coverage. In May 2023, ABC News hired G. Elliott Morris, a data journalist for The Economist who has often been described as a rival of Silver, to head the site as editorial director of data analytics.

As thought 538 was any good with Bald Pate Nate: "Trump loses to Hillary in all of these states. Make of it what you will.", giving Cankles the presidency on Election Day 2016.

You really believe this is the REAL polling? If so then you’re hopelessly clueless.

Drew, you’re the kind of person who’ll vote for Biden just so you can say “I told you so”.

Drew, you’re the kind of person who’ll vote for Biden just so you can say “I told you so”.

That's pretty funny considering a sizeable number of Trump supporters on this forum who pledged to write his name in if he didn't win the nomination.

I'm not sure who I'll vote for in '24. Maybe Trump. Maybe I'll write in DeSantis. Maybe I won't vote at all. But I can assure you, I won't be voting for Biden.

Honestly, though, I'll probably hold my nose and vote for Trump. In the end, he's better than Biden. I'll give him that. But not much more.

Blame Bill Clinton. Before he ran for President, polls were used to measure the pulse of America. Now polls are used to influence the weak of mind voters.

Democraps are very good at getting people to vote against their best interests.

The Left is pushing this poll all over X/Twitter. 3 others have dropped since with similar RV populations and results more favorable to Trump (close, even, or up).

“Elise Stefanik for VP.”

That’s what I think, too. But she’s so important in the position she has now.

Sadly, in elections where there’s a female VP, the ticket hasn’t won. (Please ... nobody say “Kamala Harris”. I’m talking about UN-fraudulent elections.)

Personally, I’m not a fan of females in politics generally — or even voting — but that’s a fact of life now. There aren’t many strong male options who would be willing to be Second Banana on a ticket. (IMO)

“This is about abortion.”

Maybe; I dunno. But it seems that when people are polled on the issues that are most important to them, abortion is pretty far down on the list for most people. The number of people, men or women, who list that as #1 is too small to change the results of an election.

Women and men who want to kill their babies will find a way, laws or no laws. That’s always been the case. If they’re evil enough to want to murder, they’re evil enough to flout any law.

“What the hell is the matter with these women that can’t seem to hook up without having to KILL an unwanted baby!”

Men are guilty, too, and push their sex partners into abortion. It wouldn’t be convenient to have to support an unwanted child financially and/or emotionally, especially a child resulting from a cavalier hookup.

Like you said, with birth control so cheap and easy now, this shouldn’t be a thing.
