Vivek Ramaswamy uncorked his most bizarre election conspiracy theory to date on Monday, suggesting that the NFL playoffs may be rigged in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs to give Taylor Swift more national air time ahead of an eventual endorsement of Joe Biden this fall.
The former White House hopeful shared his dizzying theory in a post to X, responding to a post about Swift allegedly coming out as “a super liberal in 2020” all of a sudden—despite Swift having endorsed Democrats as early as 2018.
“I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month,” wrote Ramaswamy, who dropped his presidential bid this month and endorsed Donald Trump. “And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall. Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months.”
Swift, who is dating the Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has featured prominently on national broadcasts during Chiefs games since late September. Sunday was no different for the pop star, who was shown on CBS’ broadcast after nearly every Kelce highlight and was filmed on the field with her beau as they celebrated him clinching a spot in next month’s Super Bowl.
That newfound attention during NFL games has drawn the ire of many online, and some Republicans, like Ramaswamy, are beginning to suggest it’s somehow all one big political conspiracy—even as Swift herself has been shown visibly displeased with the extra attention.
Much of the right-wing disdain for the couple initially stemmed from Kelce’s endorsement deals with Bud Light and Pfizer, a pair of companies that have become embroiled in the Republican culture wars recently.

It’s a big mistake for Swift, too.
I guess some entertainers think they’ve reached a point where spouting about politics can’t hurt them.
I’m suffering from too much exposure to information about
Taylor swift.
Is there a 12 step program, or some camp where I can
decompress on the topic? It may take years...
Geez, I hope Taylor doesn’t Swiftly get Dixie Chicked. ;)
I’m to the point that until it is proven true with photographic, video, and first hand evidence, it’s BS believed by idiots.
100% of the burden of proof is *always* on the person who proposes a theory.
“Taylor Swift is worthless!”
Her accountants would disagree with you.
She has enough money to have zero cares. Her father was a bank executive, every cent of those many millions has been carefully invested.
She can say any damned thing she wants, and if no one ever gave her another cent she could still outright buy the Chiefs if they were for sale.
I’m one of those weird people who give exactly NO cares what anyone else’s politics are when it comes to music, movies, food, or anything outside of politics. I don’t like anti-Semites, but damned if I’m going to live without Wagner’s music, I don’t care for socialists but what a person does off stage or out of the recording studio means nothing to me as far as if I will enjoy their music.
As crappy as Detroit played in the second quarter you have to wonder if the coach didn’t say, “Listen, guys the team owners have received word that the $1 Billion bribe check went through. So we’re going to have to look like we tried. I know it will be hard, but you can do it. We want to see a complete meltdown out there the second half.”
For a lot of performers, money isn’t as important as adulation, popularity, etc.
I don’t care much about any entertainer’s politics either - as long as I don’t hear about them.
I was a big fan of Barbra Streisand from the time I was a kid; but when she started mouthing off about politics, I soured on her. I couldn’t watch her in anything anymore without thinking of the politics. There have been others like that, too.
Swift isn’t saying anything.
This whole thing (the Swift/Trump/Biden stuff) is a scam that has been generated to get clicks. Both sides are falling for it.
My facebook feed is full of women telling me, “I should not be upset with Swift attending games—she is empowering to girls”. That is prelude to the “Only a MAGA extremist would be mean to Swift.”
This crap is the “bombardment before the invasion.”
The switcheroo is coming and it’s going to be vicious. The Trump supporters getting worked up over this are walking right into a buzz saw.
Am I a ‘Maga Extremist’ because I don’t think she’s very talented or interesting?
Having an opinion isn’t against the law.
But you and I both know this has very little do with her talent.
Sounds like she's got a case of TDS.
They fear him like they feared Trump. Interesting.
“Vote for Biden,” sang Taylor, chiefly.
She has a fan base comparable only to the Beatles. Anyone attacking her is going to run into the biggest hornet’s nest in history.
She got 35,000 people to register to vote with one Instagram post. That. Is. Power. Votes are the coin of the realm in politics, even money is only a tool.
I honestly don’t get it, either. It’s like her base is under a spell or something. She’s really not anything special.
“They both come from totally different worlds- athletics and entertainment. Although yes, a claim can legitimately be made that they are one and the same.”
They truly are. I recall a discussion with an NFL quarterback shortly after a Super Bowl that had been a blow-out. His most interesting comment was how bad that was for the advertisers, how people stop watching and thus less viewers for the ads, revenues go down.
Interesting and probably correct perspective.
And the sheeple will eat it up like rancid hot dogs at the “big game”.
Don’t get me wrong...you and I are talking about different things.
I am talking about not ruling out things I don’t know anything about, no matter how outlandish and unlikely it sounds, and this is primarily, maybe even exclusively with respect to human behavior and actions. I have come to the conclusion that if the human mind can conceive it, unless physically impossible, it is inevitable.
You are talking about believing and accepting something, which is quite a different affair than ruling something out.
