HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department is investigating a fatal early Saturday morning shooting.
According to police, a male suspect approached a man and his girlfriend at the pumps at the "Zip In Zip Out" Chevron Gas Station located at 11095 Ella Blvd. Police say the suspect pistol-whipped the man at the gas station and demanded his wallet.
After investigating, police found out that a bystander, unrelated to the victim or the suspect, witnessed the robbery and shot the suspect. The shooter then instructed the robbery victim to retrieve what the suspect had taken before leaving the scene.
"I was outside my apartment smoking a cigarette and I heard two gunshots go off," said Kirby Robertson, a witness.
The robbery suspect later died after being taken to the hospital in critical condition.
"Yeah, I think he was justified. I would justify him. We need more people like that out here. More people to protect us out here like that," said Leroy Nortfleet, a resident in the area.
"Hell yeah, it’s justifiable because he trying to protect the society. He's helping people. He didn’t do nothing wrong," said another resident.
Other people said the shooting should have never happened.
"I can’t judge that man. Was he wrong? Probably, most likely, he absolutely was," said Gabriel Hendley, a citizen.
Authorities are attempting to locate the individual who shot the robbery suspect.
"When I saw and heard that he took off after he shot him, I didn’t want him to get in no trouble. He was just trying to protect a citizen," said Nortfleet.
Houston police say the shooter later called and met with HPD detectives to provide a statement. He was released after detectives contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Officials say the shooting investigation would be presented to a grand jury.
The case details, including charge decisions, are up to the District Attorney’s office and investigators.
We will continue to update as information becomes available.
Wait ... what?
No Bill.

They ought to pin a medal on him.

Yes.
That was a very skillful shooting, and very righteous. Two shots only, at distance, criminal was in full run. One career criminal now facing God’s judgement, and an untold number of future victims are now safe from this trash.
McGruff the Crime Dog says, “take a bite out of crime”!
Like shooting a rabid dog. No telling how many lives were saved.
We have to reward this kind of behavior, because the next person who needs rescuing could be one of our children, spouses or parents.
Whenever a democrat dies, a toilet is flushed. /spit
It looks like the Soros DA Kim Ogg knows prosecuting the shooter will cause a major uproar. She’ll let the grand jury no bill him or charge him so her hands appear clean.
Depending on the reason for leaving the scene, it may have been the prudent thing to do. These cretins tend to travel in packs.

Paul Kersey lives.
“Paul Kersey lives”.
Apparently so. Too bad he has to go through the wringer over it. Maybe they’ll just tell him to get outta town.
Bad people suck.
Technically, the guy was running away.
It would have been better to kill him in the act.

May their eyes go wall-eyed so that they can’t find him
Memphis had 5 different shootings last night, and 1 Cop was hit by a Semi.
A shooting at the Zip in Zip out gas station with a Zip gun.
The cops will find him of course, which is a good thing. The right thing to do would be to quietly award him a cash bounty, at least enough to pay off that nice car he was driving, plus taxes.
Sorry that was someone's son or brother or whatever, but he won't be doing any more crime.
