Former national security adviser John Bolton called for “disproportionate” strikes inside Iran after a drone attack killed three U.S. service members in Jordan over the weekend.
Bolton said Sunday night on NewsNation that the U.S. needs to carry out retaliatory attacks in the wake of the deadly drone strike. He said the U.S. needs to “impose enough pain on Iran” to ensure it does not attempt a similar attack on the U.S. again.
“To be clear, I don’t think it should be proportionate. I think it should be disproportionate. That’s how you create deterrence in the mind of your adversary, that the cost to them of attacking our forces is so high they won’t do it again,” he said.

That’s not going to happen as the Biden handlers are Obama and his ilk of Iran-lovers.
In other words, Valerie Jarret And Barack Obama won’t let Joe do it.

The conditions in the 1940s were completely different. There was a declared war. Also, the U.S. firebombed both countries and twice nuked Japan; the Allies held war crime trials for numerous German and Japanese leaders; Germany was divided into pieces controlled by one of the Allies; the U.S. replace the government in Japan with a new government.
Yes, completely different because we do not have a majority of patriotic Americans in leadership any more. One can argue they simply represent their constituencies. Just look at our cities. The declaration of war is pro forma. Does anyone imagine we would not declare war after our military was attacked at Pearl Harbor, and not only on Japan.

What, in your imagination, would be required to change the Iranian regime?
Mass destruction of strategic assets and an uprising of the Iranians who want an end to the Islamic Reign of Terror in their country;
Do you imagine the U.S. still has the power to destroy Iranian strategic assets or is our military strength only on paper ? If the latter, North Korea is watching intently to see what, if anything, the U.S military will do to respond. It will indicate how far they can go.

an uprising of the Iranians who want an end to the Islamic Reign of Terror in their countryThey all live in Beverly Hills, and they're not enlisting.
These "People of [Iraq], [Afghanistan], [Syria], [etc]" are a neocon fiction to keep involving us in foreign wars while our Army is needed right here on the border.

I studied military history in 1964. One of the idiotic theories they introduced to us was the concept of "limited war."
Even as a 17year old kid, I thought that was a stupid idea.

Just between you and me, and no disrespect intended, and I don't know whether you ever enlisted or not; that is water under the bridge.
The Iranian women, in Iran, suffering and dying in Iranian prisons for standing up to the regime, if they get that far, are a whole lot braver than either of us. It is easy to disparage the Iranians who made it to America when one is typing in the safety and security of the United States or similar countries.
Destroy the regime, kill the venomous snake, and don't worry about what the wars that come next.

Iran wants us in a war. Gonna be tough to not oblige.
To: ChicagoConservative27
Stupid. But on the other hand, it’s also stupid for any president’s admin to say “We don’t want war with Iran,” as the Biden admin is doing. If you say that, then you are inviting attack by Iran. Make it look like you’re looking for an excuse to attack them and they’ll behave.

Some of us “hate on” this guy because he exposed himself as a warmongering jackass years ago.
Former national security adviser John Bolton called for “disproportionate” strikes inside Iran after a drone attack killed three U.S. service members in Jordan over the weekend.
This leading sentence alone says it all. John Bolton has been calling for “disproportionate” strikes inside Iran for at least 20 years — which makes him less credible than a turd in Joe Biden’s diaper on this subject.
If Bolton was a Detroit Lions fan he’d be calling for disproportionate strikes against Iran as an appropriate response to their loss in San Francisco yesterday.

Can't we just follow Trump's lead and kill just the Big Boys (like Solemeini), while scrupulously avoiding civilian casualties?
Surely Mossad knows exactly where the Khameini and the Iranian president are at all times. KILL THEM. And only them.
I guess that isn't profitable enough for the MIC friends of Bolton and Graham.

That was not the experience with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan but Americans were more patriotic then and the political and military leadership especially. We also aimed to annihilate them, not "nation build," like this retardation...

Forget about Iranian personnel in Yemen. Target the Iranian leadership in Iran. Assassinate them on-by-one, or take out the entire legislature next time they meet. But that will not happen as long as the Obama administration remains in power.
To: af_vet_1981
"Yes, completely different"And because the conditions in the 1940s were completely different, any islamic regime change done today in Iran is likely to be just another ride on the terrorist merry-go-round and not the dramatic change done at the end of WWII.

Warpig is right pansy.
I do have a problem using the term "disproportionate" tho.
Eliminating the threat is the proper term.
Enders Game our enemies and then peace will reign like Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
