Former national security adviser John Bolton called for “disproportionate” strikes inside Iran after a drone attack killed three U.S. service members in Jordan over the weekend.
Bolton said Sunday night on NewsNation that the U.S. needs to carry out retaliatory attacks in the wake of the deadly drone strike. He said the U.S. needs to “impose enough pain on Iran” to ensure it does not attempt a similar attack on the U.S. again.
“To be clear, I don’t think it should be proportionate. I think it should be disproportionate. That’s how you create deterrence in the mind of your adversary, that the cost to them of attacking our forces is so high they won’t do it again,” he said.

“insurrection”
A charging document I recently read described it as a riot.
Sure would be nice to push a button, and they’d all disappear.
Strap him on the first missile to go in.
The Iranian regime needs to be dealt with just as Trump dealt with Kim.
We have no wish to harm you and would like you to feel the same way.
The best response would be to re-establish the vise Trump established on Iran, including sanctions. Dry up their oil sales, and all incoming industrial supplies - except food. Iran has a large number of dissidents to support. Trump had Iran over the barrel, follow his lead.
“They have already murdered enough Americans to warrant regime change now.”
Yeah, that’s like picking another ride on the islamoterrorist merry-go-round. You’ll still go in a circle.
Like cockroaches and rats they never go away.
Regardless of what you think about Iran, Muslims, etc... the USA is following an extremely flawed strategy - Debilitating and expensive war on many fronts, over-extended lines, static bases open to constant attack, in a region with weak allies and of little value to the USA.
The arrogant DC planners are inviting trouble.
Its like Rome’s attempts to control Germania
Iran has killed or maimed tens of thousands of Americans by supplying weapons, IEDs, drones, etc directly or to proxies.
the USA has supplied way more to way more places
Imagine the Dept. of Defense will advise the Iranians 24 hours in advance of any attack. It the Milley advance notification procedural protocol still in effect?
“While I would normally support retaliation, the sad fact is the US has become ineffective in using its military power”
If we took out Iran’s Navy, they’d be set back for decades.
same, as of late....but I’m having a hard time finding fault with this position.
The Putin way, while involving money, is cheaper: bribe the most cutthroat bastard.
the USA Sends actual pallets of cash to many countries
The conditions in the 1940s were completely different. There was a declared war. Also, the U.S. firebombed both countries and twice nuked Japan; the Allies held war crime trials for numerous German and Japanese leaders; Germany was divided into pieces controlled by one of the Allies; the U.S. replace the government in Japan with a new government.
Here’s what I don’t get; these very people publicly lied to get Trump and yet people are scrambling to believe them now. I now don’t believe anything they say which is the natural punishment of all people who lie alot
I say we drop Bolton and morning Joe on them.
Launch yourself out of a cannon then, Johnny.
I live in Irving/Valley Ranch, home to two of the largest Muslim communities in Texas. They usually are peaceful and not political. I think they know their mosques would be a smoking pile of rubble within 24 hours after an Islamist attack in North Texas.
They are until they aren't.
more US deaths this morning. You can hate on this guy all you want but since 79 Iran has committed hundreds of acts of war and terrorism. Instead of criticizing him, how about defending out troops and fight back. Time for a declaration of ear against iran.
