DALLAS — The new year welcomed 30 new state laws in Texas.
One of them could dramatically impact higher education.
The Lone Star State will no longer allow its publicly funded colleges and universities to have Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - or DEI - offices.
"Diversity" refers to the representation of people from a variety of backgrounds – particularly referring to people of different races, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, religions and more at all levels in an organization, including the leadership level.
"Equity" focuses on fairness and justice, mainly referring to compensation and whether people are being paid or treated fairly.
"Inclusion" shines a light on fairness and justice, particularly referring to compensation and whether people are being paid or treated fairly, that's according to DEI experts.

Well, I like the baby-talk jive, but maybe Texas is sick of racism against whites.
Wow, three entries and no “Don’t Mess with Texas”, yet.
Best news I’ve read today. Sick of “diversity”.
WFAA obviously thinks ending DEI is a bad thing.
No, WFAN. It refers to reverse discrimination and hiring under-qualified or no-qualified people instead of whites. It refers to lock-step "thinking" compliant with ultra-liberal orthodoxy; no dissent or diverging views allowed. It refers to dissenters losing their careers after decades of sterling contributions and service. It refers to re-education of those stubborn people who won't fall in line.
What a freaking, craven, ignorant idiot.
It took "anti-Semitism" (campus anti-Israel protests) to decrease the use of DEI.
Our nation's policies are determined only by how they benefit or hurt this or that minority group. How whites are affected is irrelevant.
In other words, they are bringing back slavery for blacks.
DIE!
Excellent News!
“”As a black woman, I want to continue to break barriers within this industry. “”
Nope.
Not as a leader, not as an example, no sir, “As a black woman.”
And “breaking barriers?”
Blacks have been installed on every TV show in the known and yet-to-be-discovered universe.
The only thing that is breaking is the speed of sound by HRs and Producers hauling butt to her with contracts in hand.
And the White candidates for the jobs?
Maybe the midnight traffic reports or keeping up with the obituaries.

We didn’t have too much administrative funding for groups when I went to university. There were groups, but they were usually privately funded or managed by students on the campus anyway - not necessarily by full time administrative careerists. Some of the groups had long-term benefactors who either gave time or money (or both) and helped the groups for a decade or longer. They served as mentors from the off-campus community to mentor the on-campus students in their group. Some of the groups would have to fundraise by selling cookies or T-shirts etc.
At university we had gay groups (it was called GLAAD then), Jewish groups (campus Hillel), Catholic groups (run by the local church priest) and even Black and Hispanic groups, and women support groups. They were recognized by the administration, but were not funded by the university except that some funds were available to host events for speakers, and made some rooms available for these events. We even had an Evangelical group that had a big event every year to talk about rock groups and rock songs, but it was a bait and switch - the posters for the event were cool, but ultimately the pastor just tried to convince us that these bands were satanic and that we should join him in renouncing Satan. We had, if I recall, a Young Republicans groups that sponsored a debate twice a year but I soon realized it was a rigged debate and the speakers were a “team” that went around the country doing scripted debates just to take college money to put on a show.
I liked the Cinema group. Every Friday they had a great movie, sometimes even first run features, and it was shown in a very large theater but you had to bring your own popcorn :-)
BTW that is Cleo Greene at WFAA.

While this is good to see, why was this crap allowed to infest Texas colleges in the first place?
“Diversity” - Ripping off white people
Diverse females everywhere are soon going to lawyer-up.
Excellent! Florida banned this crap too. Every Red State needs to ban it.
Don’t mess with Texas. I was watching the Stars drop the puck in Detroit.
‘...according to ‘DEI experts’”
What an absolute dumb@$$hole
DEI = not white male.
