Donald Trump IS the Eisenhower and also the Reagan of a new era.
No. No, it doesn’t.
Oh my, the leftist writers are scared.
AH, the Hill....
If you ever want to know what the
Uniparty/Globalist/Establishment preferred messaging is, they will tell you.
Eisenhower was too nice.
I read “The Age of Eisenhower” by William Hitchcock awhile ago. I’m probably in the minority, but I was not impressed with his actions as president. WWII? Sure, I’ll give the man full credit. But as president, he (in my opinion) intervened around the globe where he should not have, and he failed to intervene in places where perhaps should have. I think he mismanaged the Cold War, and Civil Rights. I think he let the CIA get out of control and I think the Deep State was largely born while Eisenhower was president. Did he know? I’m not sure. But I got the impression that if he did know, he would have approved of it. I came away not liking Eisenhower all that much.
>>Today’s Republican Party desperately needs an Eisenhower.
Today’s Republican Party desperately needs a Patton.
What the Republican Party does not need is a John Kenneth White.
Let’s make a deal: We all agree to the social conventions, popular culture, immigration policies, and treatment of Red China of the Eisenhower Era (minus Jim Crow), and then we can have our Eisenhower.
Presidents McCain, Romney and Dole agree
But none of us do
We do not need an Eisenhower. If one has to use WWII analogies, we need a Patton, and we have one in Trump.
Better analogies: we need a Jehu, a Kamehameha, an Orban, or a Milei. Trump can be any or all of the above.
Think what the USA had to do to get an Eisenhower!
What today's Republican party needs is a Lincoln willing to throw Democrats in prison where they belong.
The way Lincoln used to do it.
They are simply holding up one respected man to prove Trump
isn’t. Boy are they pushing their luck.
Eisenhower was the man for his time. Trump is the man for
ours.
When Trump says something, foreign leaders heads swivel.
They know he doesn’t mince words. He tells them exactly
what his thoughts are, and lets them guess how he will
support them.
This is a man that fights for our nation. After 8.5
years of joining the public political arena, they know
he’s not a quitter.
He’s our dog in this hunt.
Yes, Ike was a famous General and very popular; SO very popular that both the Dem and GOP wanted the then President of Columbia University, IKE, to be their candidate for president.
Though Ike claimed to be neither Dem nor GOP, the GOP got him.
He was NOT a "great" president, as presidents go; but an okay one...sort of. Today, he's be known as a GOPe!
He NEVER defended or supported him, nor even was pleasant at all to his VEEP, Nixon and let the Dems, Commies, and PINKOs trash him. Neither did he want Nixon to be his VEEP...ever!
I could go on, but people need to learn more FACTUAL history, on their own and I hope that my post encourages at least some here to do so.
The "good times" under Ike, were mostly due to how that era was ( most of the rest of the world had suffered massive loss and destruction during WW II, so America came into superior status ); though yes, he DID send the damned ILLEGAL ALIEN BACK.
Two things are funny in this piece.
Eisenhower warned against the rise of the military-industrial complex.
Eisenhower also implemented “Operation Wetback.” He had ships full of illegals loaded and ordered them sailed WAAAAY down the west coast of Mexico and then dumped onto the coast in remote areas. When the word got back, over a million Mexicans self-deported so they would not be stranded after deportation.
This guy has a woodie for Biden. He has no business giving Republicans advice.
One might recall that the GOP lost seats in Congress with each election following Eisenhower’s inauguration. The GOP could use a leader like that. Maybe Ronna McDaniel can be our new Eisenhower.
Eisenhower the Moderate for sure but at the end of his Presidency Eisenhower saw the Military Industrial Complex coming an MIC that is anything but Moderate with taxpayer dollars and our national debt.
Ronald Reagan came into the GOP from the Democrats during the Eisenhower Years admired Ike but didn’t pick up enough perhaps on that MIC notion.
The Republican Party has its Eisenhower in Trump - they just don’t want to see it.
Eisenhower took the opportunity of his farewell address to warn us that the greatest danger we face is from within - an unelected and unaccountable Administrative State. The Military Industrial Complex. The Deep State.
Know the measure of a man by the enemies he attracts.
And who has attracted better enemies than President Trump? The very same enemies that Eisenhower warned us about 63 years ago.
If Republicans really want to heed Ike’s warning, they need to stop this nonsense and embrace Trump - follow him into battle against the Military Industrial Complex.
