DeSantis team downplays scrubbing of campaign events on website as candidate cancels talk show appearances

HAMPTON, New Hampshire — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ team on Sunday morning downplayed questions about its website being scrubbed of public events as the Republican candidate canceled his appearances on national political talk shows two days before the first primary of the 2024 presidential elections.

Over recent weeks, the bulk of DeSantis’ public campaign trail outings have been organized by the Never Back Down PAC, which would invite him as a special guest, though his campaign has coordinated some as well.

As of Sunday morning, the PAC only had one event listed in New Hampshire and his campaign website — which had previously detailed his public appearances — had none, stoking rumors on social media about the future of his 2024 bid.

DeSantis was still slated to hold a meet and greet in Manchester, New Hampshire later in the day Sunday, according to his campaign. Although not listed on the website, his team disbursed a media adviser.

A campaign spox told The Post that the Manchester event had never been listed on the campaign website and is still on.

Another example of a terribly run campaign.

Look at the comparison from what you see on Trumps vs DeSantis.

I understand from the Interweb DeSantoids, that when he scrubs his webpages of upcoming events, this is the sign of a successful campaign.

There have been lots of recent postings on Ron’s soon suspension of his campaign.

I have noted a lack of RDS supporters making comments in these many postings.

He did this right when he should have put the pedal to metal for 48 hours. I’ve never seen this before unless a person was dropping out or out of money.

Pure smug, vindictiveness on DeSantis's part.

He knows his campaign is over, but he won't officially drop out and make a speech supporting Trump.

When you don’t have anyone on your team listing events on the website that means you are “doing it right.” Ron did “run hard” so his team doesn’t have the time or the inclination to list events. Scrubbing or not listing events means we “executed.” DeSantis had $50m spent against him; therefore, none of the $300m DeSantis spent could possibly be used to list events. Not listing events “is good.”

ah...who knew?

Him not campaigning in NH must also be good. As is losing by 30 points in Iowa, while not winning any of the 99 counties?

You're probably right. I also think it's kind of like the delusional gambling addict's itch - 'just one more hand, one more spin, one more throw of the dice - then I'll be a winner'

The “Never Back Down” antics are very close to the line of violating campaign finance laws. Lawyers could debate the fine points but their impact on his campaign was so large that imho they crossed the line and became most of his campaign.

They have further compromised DeSantis since he will have to beg the Democrats not to indict him for this stuff.

It would not surprise me if DeSantis was having some serious mental health issues at this point in time. As much as I am disgusted by his backstabbing move on Trump, I hope this is not the case. His wife is no doubt melting down, having to kiss her White House dreams goodbye. I can’t imagine having to listen to her narcissistic droning for 4 years.

They want to keep their jobs as long as possible even though they are doing nothing.

DeSantis wife’s “participation” comment was one for the ages.

The campaign started spinning like a top as soon as she opened her mouth....lol stuff—yet another saga in one of the most disastrous primary political campaigns in history.

The metric to use for that honor is dollars spent per delegate.

I think Jeb is the current record holder for the Republicans at this point—but I haven’t hit the calculator yet so it could be a close call.

The only thing anybody wants to hear Ron say is when he’s dropping out.

DeSantis is avoiding states where he thinks he might run into Laura Loomer.

He scrubbed his webpage of upcoming events because he doesn’t want Laura Loomer to know where he will be next.

If Ron had an ounce of integrity, he’d leave the race, back Trump and come home to Florida to govern. But he’s owned by the UNI Party and their money. He’s beholding to the RINO UNI PARTY wing of the GOP.

But if I’m wrong, and I could be wrong. And if Ron’s such a great conservative, such a great alternative to Trump, then perhaps these folks who post here lauding him, (and bashing Trump), will pool their money and time for Ron. Something tells me that won’t happen.

They can reach into their retirement accounts and donate more and more—save the party, save the country from TRUMP! Of course, to pull Ron back from oblivion, it might also mean that they climb out from behind their keyboards and actively campaign door to door for Ron!!
