Pure smug, vindictiveness on DeSantis's part. He knows his campaign is over, but he won't officially drop out and make a speech supporting Trump.

You're probably right. I also think it's kind of like the delusional gambling addict's itch - 'just one more hand, one more spin, one more throw of the dice - then I'll be a winner'

The “Never Back Down” antics are very close to the line of violating campaign finance laws. Lawyers could debate the fine points but their impact on his campaign was so large that imho they crossed the line and became most of his campaign.

They have further compromised DeSantis since he will have to beg the Democrats not to indict him for this stuff.
