How are Somalis in the US NOT “African American”?To me, the proper definition of an African American is that you're descended from the American slaves.
Obama is not an African American. He's a Kenyan American. His father got off the boat from Kenya.

I’d say most “African Americans” can’t trace back their leniage past ggg grandpa’s boat ride.
I just saw something recently that claimed most of not all of them have some white ancestor.
