The House passed a short-term spending extension only hours after the bill cleared the Senate, pushing the next shutdown threat to March and surrendering Republican leverage on enacting a border security package.
The continuing resolution (CR) passed 314-108, extending spending levels and priorities set by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in December 2022 during a lame-duck session of Congress.

Mine too. Closeted and weak like Linda Graham.

He doesn’t care what you or Americans want. He cares what his paymasters want.
Yep!
REPUBLITARDS now and forever apparently!
Some may be, but many won’t.
No worries until......March.
Oh, well. Kick the can.
(Needs a large outdoor space with lots of hiding places. So Washington, DC looks good.

And some, if not many, of those that opposed it, probably did so because they knew the votes were there to pass it without them.
Quotes from the 1951 Refugee Convention:
Article 23 - Public relief
The Contracting States shall accord to refugees lawfully staying in their territory the same treatment with respect to public relief and assistance as is accorded to their nationals.
Article 17 - Wage-earning employment
....
2. In any case, restrictive measures imposed on aliens or the employment of aliens for the protection of the national labour market shall not be applied to a refugee...who fulfils one of the following conditions:
(a) He has completed three years’ residence in the country;
....
(c) He has one or more children possessing the nationality of the country of residence.
Article 34 - Naturalization [and getting the right to vote (and buy AR-15s)]
The Contracting States shall as far as possible facilitate the assimilation and naturalization of refugees. They shall in particular make every effort to expedite naturalization proceedings and to reduce as far as possible the charges and costs of such proceedings.

Article 44 - Denunciation [getting out from under the Refugee Convention]
1. Any Contracting State may denounce this Convention at any time by a notification addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. Such denunciation shall take effect for the Contracting State concerned one year from the date upon which it is received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations....
NOTE: I do not trust any politician who has not called for invoking Article 44 to get the US out from under the Refugee Convention.
And my distrust extends to Trump and DeSantis.
The Refugee Convention must be removed from the Democratic Party toolbox by invoking Article 44. This can be done cheaply.
Washington Generals VS Harlem Globetrotters
At least our guys tried really hard and put out a bunch of really nasty tweets. That shows that they really care.

Weak leadership. I sum, the speaker dhould be the voice of the people. If thr speaker doesn’t think this is what the people are trying to day (more of the same) then don’t say it (by even putting it on the floor). It yskes.courage to not put this trash on the floor and Johnson doesn’t have what’s needed. Bold decisions are for the bold.
Note gasoline prices are rising.
You can’t run on a fiscally conservative platform while giving 100s of billions to Ukraine and Israel. It’s a garbage political strategy and even beyond politics. The people who have paid into these systems for decades can’t lose and their money is shuffled over to other lands. Hard pass.
Note gasoline prices are rising.

Yep things rise and things fall. Just
enjoy your rises and hope the falls
aren’t that bad.
Give = invest
Ss is also an investment.
The ONLY relevant question here is how did the majority of the GOP conference vote?
