WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida lashed out at the media Monday after networks declared former President Donald Trump the winner before some caucus sites had started voting.
“It is absolutely outrageous that the media would participate in election interference by calling the race before tens of thousands of Iowans even had a chance to vote,” said DeSantis spokesman Andrew Romeo. “The media is in the tank for Trump and this is the most egregious example yet.”
The news broke at a caucus site here right around the same time a surrogate for Mr. DeSantis had taken the stage to sing his praises.
Mr. DeSantis has been growing increasingly frustrated with conservative media outlets, accusing them of shielding Mr. Trump from scrutiny.
“[Trump’s] got basically a Praetorian Guard of the conservative media. Fox News, the websites, all this stuff,” Mr. DeSantis said at a recent campaign stop, alluding to Roman emperors’ bodyguards.“They just don’t — they don’t hold him accountable because they’re worried about losing viewers and they don’t want to have the ratings go down.”

“DeSantis and crew are morphing into Prince Has-been and Skankles”
He had to do well in Iowa. NH is where marginal conservatives go to die in R primaries.
LOL!
Trump won fair and square, and DeSantis is now repeating talking points from the deep state, just like they did in 2016. I and others do know how to read.
People who are out in the cold dark night going to and attending caucus sessions are not sitting around listening to Fox news or whomever. This is a pathetic whine from a guy who lost and who should have known he wasn’t going to win anything in Iowa. I wonder, does he really think this petulant complaining will earn him votes in SC or NH? Sometimes politicians are so obtuse.
What’s his point?
I don’t mind whiners—if at least they are intelligent about it—both tactically and intellectually.
The DeSantis team blew it tonight on both counts.
LOL
desanctimonious had already given the caucus process his approval, by saying Trump would say it was stolen if Trump lost.
DeSantis argues Trump ‘will say it’s stolen, no matter what’ if former president loses in Iowa or NH
CONCORD, N.H. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says he expects Donald Trump to try and “delegitimize” the election results if the former president ends up losing either the Iowa caucuses or New Hampshire primary.
“If Trump loses, he will say it’s stolen, no matter what. Absolutely. He will try to delegitimize the results,” DeSantis told reporters on Friday during a question and answer session after holding a town hall in New Hampshire’s capital city.
Now desanctus has a problem with the caucuses, because he lost?
lol....
I know how caucuses work, and that calling elections early can have a negative effect on an honest outcome.
Are you telling me no one at the caucuses was allowed to have a phone? Some may have been persuaded to change votes, or even leave early.
Either you care about election integrity, or you don’t. Trump supporters seem to be blowing in the wind here.
That things get called too soon. I’ve never liked it.
At some point during the night it became mathematically impossible from Trump to lose.
>> I know how caucuses work
No, you really don’t. These aren’t voters blowing in the wind, wondering who they should vote for, or if they should vote at all.
They are committed partisans who SHOW UP — in the bitter cold — for the express purpose of voting for a particular candidate.
Just turn and face the music, Eagle. DeSantis is done. He shot himself in the foot on day one — the wound got infected — he’s got blood poisoning — no health insurance. Ronnie boi is toast. Bye bye, so sad, so long...
Yes; the liberal media loves doing that. Except on “election week”.
So you are saying Trump had control of the media and told them to declare him the winner?
>> That things get called too soon
When a thing is “overwhelming”, it’s overwhelming.
Words have meaning. President Trump overwhelmed in Iowa. We’re not splitting hairs here. President Trump’s victory was that overwhelming.
Oh look! Here comes November! Damn, time flies.
Complaining.. Negative.. That’s why he faded.
>> At some point during the night it became mathematically impossible from Trump to lose.
Yeah, that point was 7:03 PM CST. ;-)
Has no point… just a whiner as usual.
Desantis has destroyed his brand with this I’ll advised run.
Stop whining.
I kinda agree with him. It’s another case of the media trying to influence the election. Him or Haley didn’t have a chance, nut the numbers might have been different The media needs to quit calling elections early. It Harks back to the 2000 election.
You’re just making stuff up, without facts in evidence...
Just like you do mamy times, you spout something out, and pretend that its a factual statement, when there is nothing to back it up.
