Whoever convinced Ron to run did the man a terrible disservice.
I’d choose Ron over Nikki any day but the consultants should have seen Trump’s overwhelming popularity and told Ron to wait for 2028.
Takeaways:
- It was BS for all the networks to call the race 5 seconds into the voting
- Trump won over a divided field but is still stuck at 50% support in heavy red states
- DeSantis needed a better showing but still took second
- Haley is set up well for New Hampshire where Democrats can openly vote for her
>> One Day voting, paper ballots, ID required!
AMEN and AMEN.
Frankly, if they dip my finger in purple ink for good measure, I would be proud and not offended. Beats that stupid “I Voted” sticker!
VOTE INTEGRITY IS SACROSANCT or we don’t have a constitutional republican democracy at all.
I feel like you in almost all regards
I am a desantis supporter but I realize he has no road to victory and I think he needs to step down
Tonight’s speech by trump was actually not angry which I appreciated
I liked Nikki Haley’s enthusiasm and I do think in the general election she stands a better chance then trump.
I think if Haley is the nominee we win the white house and we kick Biden to the curb
I don’t think trump can win the general election
My takeaways were very different:
—The network calls were irrelevant. Caucus voters know who they are supporting and could not care less what anyone else says about the results. DeSantis complaints about that were stupid and made him look like an idiot—yet another unforced error.
—President Trump won a historic victory. This is not an opinion. This is a fact. The next closest Iowa caucus race had a 12% margin. President Trump will be in the 29-30% margin range.
—DeSantis is done. He needs to stop spinning and go back to Florida.
—Haley is done. No matter how many Democrats vote for her in New Hampshire or anywhere else she is going to be crushed in almost all states.
—This race is over. Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. Everything else is useless noise.
You missed the fun! There is a live thread with over 1200 comments (including the 88 continuous double posts —an FR record— by a freeper who shall not be named). It was a blast! But thanks for starting a new thread for those just tuning into the results.

President Trump took a commanding and historic lead in the Iowa caucuses tonight, winning by the largest margin EVER in that state.
Early calls suppress votes, where people either go home early, or then don’t go to vote at all. That’s why Trump was so upset at Fox for calling Arizona early, and Bush about Florida one year.
Trump may win the primary now but his chances in the general are still not good, especially if Biden is replaced as many suspect. A lot of the exit poll info was very interesting, most notable to me that almost all Trump voters had electability as the last reason they support Trump, showing it’s not something they seemingly even care about.
Go ahead and enjoy your victory tonight, as you should. But tomorrow will be another day, with Trump back in court, and the primary still under way.
The wind chill was minus thirty degrees tonight.
Nobody was rushing to get out of the warm and cozy caucus rooms.
Lol.
It’s the principle if nothing else. To argue otherwise gives the impression that Trump supporters are only interested in election integrity if it benefits them.
Did Fox News call it for Haley?
This is embarrassing for DeSantis and his supporters.
This is not a hill you want to die on—if you talk to real live Iowa caucus goers you would get it.
One of DeSantis big problems was that he ran an astroturf campaign and confused press conferences with getting to know real voters and what mattered to them.
The political posturing and trying to score cheap political points is exactly what they hate.
DeSantis needs to stop digging a deeper hole for himself—now.
I say this with the kindest of intentions.
He needs to stop—now.
It’s not a hill to die on, it’s a simple principle that elections shouldn’t be called 8 seconds into the actual election. Either you support those types of shenanigans or you don’t.
There were no “shenanigans” at least not in the normally understood full context of that word.
The notion that the networks did this to favor Donald Trump is laughably insane.
One could ask why they did it—only they know.
But it is the full context that makes the claim absurd—the nature of caucuses and caucus goers, the Iowa weather, the nature of the blowout, the mass media proven hatred for Trump.
Ron and Niki are running against each other in the hope that “Demstopo” law fair knock Trump out of the race. They are not honorable.
Someone on Free Republic recently coined the name “Demstapo” which means “Democrat Gestapo.” He is right.
Thanks for providing this. I’ve been looking at X and it’s crybaby central from all the influencers who had hitched their social media income, to RDS. They are parroting “election interference” and claiming “MSM called it before ppl voted”.
It’s a sad ending to a sad campaign. Even if RDS carries on, I think we are here:
Handwriting—> Wall.
Hilariou and true. Thanks for the laugh!
The RDS campaign is turning into a small cult in a hurry.
Ron needs to stop the damage—now—before his supporters start hitting the Kool Aid.
Would you be able to estimate in your (obviously) expert opinion, what would the results have been for RDS had people not been tricked out of voting earlier today? If people weren’t suppressed:
DeSantis would have won by ..... x % ?
Instead of Trump winning all 99, he would have lost by....?
Please elaborate, thanks!
The big networks definitely want Trump to win the nomination, he’s their number one cash cow. To call me insane when you are ignorant of this obvious fact is hysterical.
