Donald Trump was named the 'real winner' of the Iowa Republican debate even though he didn't show up, according to an exclusive Daily Mail poll.
The result appeared to vindicate Trump's decision not to debate his rivals Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, who are lagging far behind him in polls.
Daily Mail polling showed that DeSantis beat Haley, with 55 percent saying the Florida governor won, and 31 percent picking the former South Carolina governor.
But when asked who the 'real winner' of the night was 47 per cent said Trump.
Of the remainder 28 per cent said DeSantis, and 19 per cent Haley.

DeSantis needs to stay in Florida. Haley is the worst deep state ploy in history, no one buying that baggage.
But Meathead supporters keep telling us Trump must debate Ronnie.
Polls show most GOP voters pick Trump as the winner not showing up.
That must be hard to take for Ronnie and Nimrata.
Look for Haley backers to spend hundreds of millions promoting her on SuperTuesday instead of DeSantis.

Trump looks weak by appearing a couple of miles away from DeSantis while he is debating Haley, yet Trump obsessively trashes him while being too much of a coward to say it to his face. Very foolish. Very cowardly. He loses more supporters every time he does it.
This is why Rand Paul, who doesn’t suffer fools, will likely endorse Ron DeSantis, who is clearly hands down the best governor in America.

Trump’s tough guy act is actually a joke. He never really confronts anyone, or manhandles any situation.
He left Sessions in office forever, same with Comey, wrote a love letter when Bill Barr resigned, gave Fauci and Milley medals of service, and signed every single bill from Pelosi and Schumer. He let Hillary go free, never challenged Mexico to pay for the wall, he even offered Bill Gates the chief scientist of the White House job.
Trump is a pushover, when it gets down to it. Him hiding from DeSantis is exactly what anyone actually tracking things should expect.
Has DeSantis even been the governor of Florida since he was re-elected in 2022? :-O
