UK-US air strikes launched against Houthis in Yemen...

It’s what the Pro-Paley marchers and road blockaders want Israel to do.
A “Ceasefire”, because Israelis are kicking Hama$$.
Proportional response is something the Leftists always demand.
Yeah…sorry about that. It was more a general comment and not directed at you.
It’s funny, when Russia and Iran are shooting stuff up, those guys are all in. When the US pushes back they become friggin Jane Fonda, worried about the children and the poor.
Eight hours after we announced we were going to do it ...
The US has become the laughing stock of the planet these past 3 years. There wouldn’t not be WWIII if the election hadn’t been stolen.
Have to beat our chests and look tough.
Wasn’t it George W Bush who said he wasn’t going to shoot a million dollar missile just to hit a camel in the butt?
Did Biden drop leaflets with target lists and dates before hand, like Obama did with ISIS?
They all moved to Detroit! They left their rather cruddy jobs.
For a Dweeb, you’re rather smart.
For one thing, the White House had to find it’s Defense Secretary...
But that only explains a few days of the delay.
To be fair, I’d hope a lot of time and effort went into intel to locate targets. The Saudis expended a lot of ammo to modest effect.
Another U.S. international military response coincides with a Hunter Biden legal episode.
Between 1700 and WWI there were multiple wars between European powers. This was caused by the imperial system. The empires went out and took land, people and resources. They protected those things with their navies. They kept everything they had within their own system and traded as little as possible with each other to keep the money within their own system and to avoid becoming dependent on some commodity that might suddenly become unavailable because of war. This system brought us WWI and WWII.
NATO forced everyone to be on the same side. THAT was the primary purpose of NATO. The Soviets were the outside force NATO was united against. Truman was determined to break the imperial system which was still very much alive…wounded, but recoverable. When Brittain and France attacked Suez, their primary failure was to get American approval. I suspect they didn’t notify or try to bring American on side because they knew America would say no. America wanted to make sure everyone in the alliance knew who the top dog was, which was going to require smacking the other alpha dogs hard. What brought the Brits and the French back into line was the threat that America would break the Pound and the Frank.
The fact that the Soviets sided with the Americans is not relevant to what Truman was trying to do. NATO’s purpose was to keep everyone on the same side so all the little wars would not reignite. The enforced world peace led directly to the greatest increase in wealth, trade and population the world has ever seen. But all of that required a single hegemon to maintain the peace. I think other than wounded pride the Brits and French today would much prefer that they had lost the Suez over the world that might have evolved if the US had decided to turn a blind eye. In the long run neither power could have regained their empires as the people had changed. When France tried to hold onto Algeria, we see what happened and it left France with a black eye that probably still smarts.
Unfortunately, we are headed back to a bunch of sequestered systems. The US has no interest in holding the world together and it arguably doesn’t have the navy that would be required. So, we have eleven super carriers. They can only be in eleven places at once and the threat is pirates which are like ants attacking an elephant.
All of those ethnic and national interests the US held at bay are back in play.
No one is talking about the elephant in the room. Iran.
Until the current regime ends, whether internal or external, nothing will change.
Thank you!
The US and Great Britain notified Russia that they were preparing a strike on Houthi positions in Yemen. Official notes were sent approximately 1 hour before the strikes. The Russian side did not have time to notify London and Washington about the protest.
“We lost contact with three of our instructors. They probably died. Unfortunately, they did not have time to warn them (about the impending strike - Ed.),” said our source, closely associated with the military.
What tasks did the instructors from Russia perform in Yemen, our interlocutor did not say. But he noted that many countries are studying the experience of the [invasion of Ukraine] and using the services of Russian PMCs. It is worth clarifying that the interlocutor of the channel is not an official, but has access to important military information.

Million dollar bombs on 100 million or billion dollar platforms for thousand dollar targets?
The new economics of war and to think we funded the other side by giving all that money to Iran.
Little wonder so many around the world don’t understand us. I don’t either.
Thanks for posting that.
Imagine lowlifes holding 180 people hostage like that.
Something like that couldn’t happen today——oh, wait.
