'He didn't do this on purpose,' says Pennsylvania pooch's owner
Carrie Law was working from home last month when she heard her husband shouting in a panic: "Cecil ate the money!"
Cecil is the Pittsburgh couple's beloved pet Labradoodle. And the money was $4,000 US in crisp $50 and $100 bills, withdrawn earlier that day and set aside on the counter to pay for a landscaping project.
Now the couple is withdrawing the cash again — but not from the bank.
"My husband, who I joke is like the true hero of this story, followed Cecil around the yard and was picking up anything that Cecil was dropping off, and we'd kind of knock off the solids and start washing it all," Law told As It Happens guest host Megan Williams.
"We have been joking a lot about money laundering in the house."

Bet he’s thinking:
Worst dog treats EVER!
I don’t believe 1/2 of a $100 bill counts
I don’t pay for my landscaping projects with that kinda cash. Maybe I would a hundred bucks or so here or there, but 4K? That would be in a check form. Why pay with cash? Something doesn’t smell right to me.
Looks like a frigging werewolf!
It’s called “laundering”, but even Tide will not help clean the final product.
My housekeeper who is also a vet tech told me those doodle dogs are some of the dumbest dogs around.
Just sayin......
Tax evasion. Lots of contractors do this. Project will cost X if paid in cash, X+Y if by check or any other traceable means.
Actually, they’re very bright. That’s the poodle influence.
I would use it to pay my taxes. Send it to the IRS

This is one stupid dude for advertising that he was going to pay cash to the landscaper.
Both will get a visit very soon from the IRS.

Dogs will eat almost anything. Dogs are one of the few animals that will eat its own feces. Yes it ate the money on purpose.
My thoughts as well
Probably not the smartest thing they ever done in this mess is to talk to the press about paying for the landscaping with cash.
They could be hearing from the tax men (local, state and federal)
Tax man is going to get his cut.
Probably won’t get a 1099 for that job. Happens every day.
Why pay with cash? Something doesn’t smell right to me.
++++++++
Neither does the cash!
My exact thoughts!!!! Kind of stupid to blast this to the world. Maybe an IRS agent will stop by for a little briefing on this...???!!!
If at least half of a bill is presented, the government will replace it

A Cash Dispenser, does a Loomis truck follow the dog around?
Looks like a lot of us are on to them! I didn’t read all the comments before posting..!!!
