Yet there is this absolutely insane push all over CA to build more affordable housing. Laws are passed that will cram low income housing into nice towns.
Yet the state has gone from 40 million to 39 million. Who needs more housing when you are shrinking that rapidly?

Yep! The locusts are invading Texas. And don’t let anybody fool you that these people are conservatives or liberals who have converted. I can guarantee you the majority are bringing their politics with them. Just take a look at these three major cities in Texas politics , Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio….Enuff said. Those are the cities they’re invading in devastating numbers!

I still don’t understand how California still has any U-Hauls left.
I’m retired. In Texas. I’ve looked into a side job of delivering U-Hauls back to California as there surely must be a shortage.
No such job.

You can’t ever build “affordable housing” in California. There is a Minimum of $125K in Permit Fees just to get started, even if you just wanted a $65K manufactured house on your land, you will spend $300-$400K by the time it is all signed off.

Bye Bye Hellhole.... Not only are they moving out, but it’s the middle and uppper classes that are leaving. Who’s going to pay for their homeless and illegal pets?

And then they force all the towns with an average home price of $2 million to have a “housing element” in their plans that commits them to building those “low income” and “affordable” housing units.
It is utterly insane. But it IS California where insane is the new norm.

Uhaul rents to poor people. Rich people use moving companies to move. Both data points (plus several others) need to be analyzed to see the full migration patterns within the US.
The Census Bureau releases the complete information later in the year (they also show their data as of July 1).

High taxes, high cost of living – highest-in-the-nation housing costs, highest-in-the-nation gas prices, failing public schools, and loss of parental rights – all factor in the decision to move. Other states losing population are Michigan (46), New Jersey (47), Illinois (48) and Massachusetts (49). New York ranks 43rd.M.The people leaving CA are middle and upper class, the people staying and coming in are poor and illegal. So CA needs more 'free housing'...

In 2022, 817,000 Californians moved to other states.
Most of them taxpayers - I was among them. The net loss will be lower, because people also moved to CA. Unfortunately for the Democrats, most of the people moving to CA are illegals who can't be expected to pay taxes.
