Nearly 6 in 10 American workers saw their wages grow more quickly than inflation in the past year, according to a new analysis from the Center for American Progress (CAP), a left-leaning think tank.
Some 57 percent of workers earned higher inflation-adjusted wages in November compared to one year earlier, the analysis found. This represents a larger share of workers than the average before the COVID-19 pandemic, between 2017 and 2019.
“In fact, real wages for a typical worker stand at about the level expected if there had been no pandemic or recession in early 2020 and if they had kept growing at the same rate as in years prior,” the CAP noted in the study released Wednesday.

Same here. I have been at this company for 35 years and had my best years from 2017 to 2021. 2022 was slow but bearable and 2023 was the worst year I ever had…we sell to manufacturers of chemicals. We on a 4 day work week now and this company started during the Great Depression. Even the radical leftist owner say they have never seen it this bad.
Of course they voted for this crap.
Yup. Lying eyes...
So am I… just two more to go. Cost of living went up exponentially. I guess that’s the other 6 doing well enough to afford a half million dollar home.
More lies. Prepared by evil unAmericans.
Any gains are made by the govt debt, which never get figured into the figures.
Plus, they are cherry-picking points and won’t show the full impact during the Biden years.
And was "more"...50 dollars...a hundred dollars...
Hey, Julia, is that why US passenger car fleet is the oldest it’s ever been (12.5 years)? https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a43903366/average-car-age-12-years/

Actually they are saying the right thing but applying it to the wrong situation.
Wages are up because people can’t afford the cost of basics. But basics have gone up just as fast as the wages, if not more in some items, so the adjustment to wages is also up to keep workers. You notice they didn’t say across the board on costs. If they selected any particular item they would have to prove other items that exceeded the inflation. And some high volume items went so far up they couldn’t be afforded.
For example, a loaf of bread went from $1.55 in January 2020 to $1.89 in January 2023. That’s a 18% increase in one year. Only 34 cents. But there are bigger fish in the basic needs. The average cost of new cars is now well over $48,000—up almost $6,000 from two years ago and about $10,000 from September 2020, according to Kelley Blue Book. That ain’t bread. So is that number being compared for bread or autos. They lie you know.

Hubby works as a server at a high end steakhouse. He earned more last yr than he ever has there…because prices have gone up so his tips are higher. It’s not rocket science. Add a minimum of 18% inflation and we’re doing about the same as the last 5 yrs.
“that doesn’t mean they have more money for living expenses.”
Good point. I didn’t think of that.
That’s an interesting slice of life you’ve proffered. Thanks — and here’s to some fat tips like I like to leave!
I guess this is what it must of been like to Russians reading Pravda back in the 80’s!
The sHill is trying to cover for the Demon Rat party.
may have earned more because minimum wage went up, along with prices of just about everything else!

There are other sites from before this election cycle that talked about Trump wearing lifts long before people criticized DeSantis for possibly doing the same.
Basically, he says that Trump is wearing lifts, which is not surprising, but why should we care if any or all of the candidates wear lifts?
