Man of the Year: The IDF Soldier
Sultan Knish ^ | 2 January 2024 | Daniel Greenfield

Under Biden’s leadership, America has been invaded by hordes of millions of migrants, and Europe continues to stagger under an endless wave of migration from the Muslim world. That’s why American and European cities are being torn apart by rioting mobs supporting Hamas.

But after Israel was invaded on Oct 7, it fought back. The men on the front lines are not the politicians or the generals, they’re among the 360,000 reservists activated in a nation with a Jewish population of 7 million who left behind their homes, families and jobs to go and fight.

The Israeli military was unprepared for both Oct 7 and a call-up of this size. The soldiers were fed, clothed, and equipped by the people. While the media reports on the fighting, the truly incredible unreported story is how civilian volunteers have become the supply and support (the ‘tooth-to-tail’) of the Israel Defense Forces or the IDF.

In a small country, volunteers have been bringing food every day, they have provided clothes, shipped in body armor and even showed up with washing machines on pickup trucks to do the laundry. Some civilian volunteers have been wounded and even killed while delivering food. Israeli housewives have formed the Baking Battalion to make cookies, a cooking school produces meals for the troops and restaurants operate free food trucks. Others have stepped in to harvest crops and run the shops of the reservists who have been called up to serve in Gaza.

When the government and the leaders failed, the ordinary Israeli stepped up.

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam and leftism.

Israel today reminds me of New York City after September 11 where for a brief shining moment everyone except the worst leftists pulled together against a common enemy. That spirit may well pass in Israel as it did in America, but while it lasts, it is something to admire and emulate.

The strength of the IDF has never been in its generals, though like the U.S. military it had some capable old school celebrity generals, now long gone, but in the character of the average fighting man. Strategy and leadership are crucial, but the IDF was built on the resilience of the ordinary soldier. Nations don’t make peoples and generals don’t make armies: it’s people who make nations and armies. That’s as true in Israel as it is in America.

A seriously excellent article, one that we have come to take for granted from the pen of Mr Greenfield. This is very well worth your time to follow the link and read.

Ping out to the Daniel Greenfield Ping! List.

In order for the IDF to annihilate Hamas and forever end the continuous threat from Gaza, the attack on October 7 by Hamas on Israel had to be allowed. It was easily repulsed.

The war to destroy Hamas was agreed on by the nations signing the Abraham accords as a first step to destroy the successful surrogacy war by Iran.

Believe it or don’t but there are secrets among those that matter

I wondered if the attack was allowed so Gaza could be leveled.

I do not wonder. I am absolutely certain.

Neither the Euros nor the Arabs that matter attempted their usual gambits to save “the Palestinians”. I suspect Iranian operatives are busy rousing the pro-Palestinian wackos in the USA and Europe

UAE, Bahrain and Israel, the signatories to the Abraham accords, by themselves, form a powerful enough nucleus in the Middle East to agree to destroy Hamas is your hypothesis.

I agree with you that Palestinian agents are whipping up our idiot young people to stage these ridiculous demonstrations.

There is the also Negev Summit that grew out of the Abraham accords as well. And, there is secrecy of which we know little or nothing.

The sole reason that that the Hamas attack was permitted and promoted by Iran are the several highly publicized, high level governmental meetings in Riyadh. The de facto close relation between Israel and Saudi Arabia was to Iran, simply intolerable. It had to be stopped at all costs.

Iran is reeling at the fact that all efforts by Hamas and all the Palestinians and then Hezbollah in both Lebanon and Syria and by actual Iranians in Syria and then the Houthi attacks on shipping are not having the needed effect.

The whole Iranian surrogate war gambit is crumbling before our eyes. The direction of world history has changed for ever since October 7

The entire Iranian fiasco is because President Donald Trump had the vision and a capable son in law envoy. He understood that a totally new game was absolutely needed. He convinced the other leaders to join his game. They did and have.

In Washington today as we post, there are those in power still trying to play the old game and salvage the legacy of the Black President Barack Obama.

Trump's first effort was to visit Riyadh, receive a gold trimmed red carpet reception, and announce to the whole Arab world there assembled that there was going to be change Biden did not get a red carpet reception...... subtle put down

I felt from the first that they let the attack happen so they would have the excuse to annihilate Hamas. There is no place for these organizations in the new world alignment that is coming.

Israel - a shining city on a hill...

Matt. 5 Verses 14 to 16 [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

“I want the results of the investigation into why the Hamas attack succeeded on October 7, 2023.”

There are 2 possibilities: 1) A combination of Hamas actually being disciplined and not using electronic communication while planning this operation, along with incredible arrogance/stupidity on the part of the IDF; or

2) It was allowed to occur so that Israel would have an excuse to completely destroy Hamas.

The first one squares with the nearly identical thing that occurred at the beginning of the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Israel was arrogant as Hell after a massive, nearly costless, victory...and Egypt and Syria were extremely careful to avoid tipping off the IDF.

Additiionally, one would think it obvious that such stupidity and arrogance on the part of Israel, leading to such an incredible massacre and the resultant heavy economic cost of taking nearly 400,000 young people out of the workforce, would cause any government to fall (and especially one on thin ice like Bibi’s government has been for a while)...such that TPTB would be EXTRA careful to not allow such an event to occur.

But the outrage, and the possible revenge killings, if it were ever found out that the Hamas attack was purposely allowed to proceed in order to gain a political advantage...that is naerly inconceivable.

I can’t believe it was allowed to occur either. That would be treasonous.

It would have been insane for Hamas to attack Israel, they would be slaughtered.

Of course, they are insane, and now they are getting slaughtered
