US helicopters sank three boats carrying Houthi gunmen who attacked a container ship that was transiting the Red Sea, the US military said Sunday.
A US warship also shot down two ballistic missiles fired from Yemen, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement.
It said that at 6:30 a.m. local time, the Maersk Hangzhou, a Singapore-flagged, Denmark-owned and -operated container ship issued a second distress call after earlier reporting that it was hit by a missile.

For reason that have to do with fees and costs most ships - even ours - don’t sail under a US flag. Years ago I think it was Libertarian flags that were favored.

Divide that invoice up between Maersk, the Finnish Government and scores of insurers and it would be a lot less painful than losing the ship, cargo and crew.
To replace even one of these US destroyers would be several billion dollars.

I spent more than 5 years in the military(USAF), part of it during the Vietnam war, so I can bitch.
Todays Democrat run governments aren’t worth the sacrifice.
The Navy is the only Constitutionally authorized standing military. So they have to exist, but all the rest should be held as a reserve force only.
I have a grandson, and I forbade him to join what the Democrats have turned our military into.
Full disclosure, most my family and friends are former or retired military, Navy, Marines, Army, or Air Force.
