If you haven’t been paying attention, the US tried to organize a force to defend the Red Sea shipping lanes, and most of Europe said “Nah, we will just not ship to Israel. Not our fight.”
********************************************************************
That’s true and surprises me immensely. If the Red Sea/Suez canal shipping route is not a Western European vital interest I don’t know what would be. Maybe they simply want Uncle Sugar to bear the burden, as usual.
That’s it exactly.
Why should they lift a finger when they have Uncle Sucker to do it for them?
While they complain about our guns, school shootings and lack of paid for by the government via taxes health care.
I think the EU now believes that the USA is incapable of keeping the Red Sea / Suez open by force.
And they don’t want to have anything to do with what is going to be a filed effort.
“Maybe they simply want Uncle Sugar to bear the burden, as usual.” (to secure commercial traffic through the Red Sea, from Houthi attacks)
That was my first thought as well.
I predicted several weeks ago that the most likely outcome is for Israel to be isolated by European countries who don’t give a damn about it and consider it little more than a nuisance in global affairs.
