Well, another year, another Christmas Eve. I’ll be home alone with my faithful greyhound, sipping vino and watching George Bailey learn how wonderful life is, which has been my tradition for about 15 years now. Anyone else going it solo tonight?
Sorry. Hope you are OK. Merry Christmas.
Not this year, but I have before.
You’re never alone on Free Republic.
I’m sorry
👊
Made me chuckle out loud
Thank u
Amen!
Now go have a hot toddy, everyone!
Merry Christmas, FRiend!
My daughter is alone this year, and it wasn’t planned. She’s supposed to be with her newlywed husband and his family this year. The afternoon before their flight, one of their cats had to have emergency surgery. So they had to scurry to cancel her flight. She said it’s very weird being alone, but she’s taking good care of herself.
We will FaceTime with her tomorrow.
May you all have a Blessed Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year. God bless.

My wife and I are sick with a bad cold virus and she went to bed early. No friends or family so it is a quiet and lonely night. I thank the Lord for His birth and sacrifice. May the good Lord bless you all and bring you peace.
Happy Saturnalia!!!
/totally gets it
;)
Thank you.
Same to you.
Nope.
It’s midnight.
Just got out of bed, and getting ready to go to work.
NO. They are livestock guard dogs. They have a job and they are good at it. They have places to get out of the weather that they rarely use.
Dittos
I did for the sixth year now. But I did spend quite a bit of time visiting her grave site where I reminisced over the good times we had during our 40 years together.
So very sorry about your wife. Your sister sounds like my sister-in-law, who is a sad and miserable liberal. I think liberalism has a way of decaying the heart. But you’re right—with God at your side, you have never alone.
Merry Christmas to all you wonderful people here at FR!
You sound like a very loving son. We are blessed with two of those, two great DILs and grandkids.
Hubby wasn’t feeling well and now I’m also under the weather, so it looks like it will be a quiet Christmas for us.
I’m home with my dogs and movies. I enjoyed a visit with cousins recently that I count as my Christmas celebration, and friends and family are scattered elsewhere. Making my family’s cornbread dressing this morning and that’s all I need (plus gravy and jellied cranberry sauce of course)!
Next year I might travel somewhere warm for Christmas.
