Former NFL running back Rashard Mendenhall took to social media Monday to call for a racially segregated pro football game.
“I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football,” the Super Bowl champion said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Y’all not even good at football.”
Mendenhall, who played for the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, offered a replacement to the existing Pro Bowl.
“Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football?” he asked. “I’m better than ur goat.”
Former NFL defensive end J.J. Watt entertained the idea, noting that the "All-White" team would struggle to defend against Tyreek Hill, a Black wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins known for his speed.
“We’d get cooked at corner, not gonna lie,” Watt said. “Nobody on our squad is covering Tyreek [laughing emoji].”
Steelers podcast host Christopher Carter alleged the seemingly unprovoked post hints at potential mental struggles for Mendenhall.

Blacks want whites in concentration camps after they have confiscated our wealth. They only wish to keep the white females out for breeding and sex purposes. Just look at Van Jones’ wife. When black males get wealthy they don’t want a Michelle Obama, they want a Melania. There are a few desirable black women but they are a definite minority.
Reading this is the most attention I’ve paid to the NFL in a long time. Oh well, back to having fun.

If forced to choose between an all black and an all white hospital I’m not sure which one I’d choose.

So segregation rears its ugly head. It has been practiced by all races. So stop demonizing white people. “Playing” football is how many black Americans succeed; however, more and more black Americans are becoming lawyers, doctors, business tycoons, and occupying more useful jobs to the people of our country. It is a shame that the hatred shown by this man is truly destroying him.

Norman Spinrad wrote a science fiction story about 50 years ago in which pro football teams and their fans organized themselves according to ethnic and cultural subgroups rather than geographic locations. There was a black team, a redneck team, a biker team, and so forth. A game's statistics would include deaths and injuries among the fans in the stands.
I can't remember the story's title, but it was funny as hell.

I would definitely watch that game.
Also, Johnny Unitas tried out as a walk-on at Notre Dame. The ND coach told Unitas he was impressed with his performance, but because of his size (less than 140 pounds!) he was too small to play. So, he went to Louisville.
