Republicans and conservatives should keep it to promoting a culture of raising families and keeping kids. Focus forward nds in this area to helping discerning mothers and parents facing hard financial time. This is a culture we must uphold. Meanwhile let the democrats contracept themselves out of existence. Let the democrats abort themselves. We can win this war on the cultural level. Otherwise, too much “by law” backfires. Stop giving the democrats fuel with 100% abortion laws. We are lose votes. Against n there are other ways to tackle this issue.

I agree with you.

But the current cultural norm, which started with the sexual revolution of the 60’s and is now considered a natural part of our lives, has got to be turned around slowly.

My point is Kellyanne’s ideas are a start, not the cure.

But there’s no need for any of us to argue over whether or not Kellyanne’s ideas are right or wrong, for anything she throws out there will be quickly snuffed out.

To get back to the Victorian purity of the 40’s and 50’s in our life time would take a bloody revolution. If there is a bloody revolution it won’t be over this subject.

“So much of this thread is assuming that people MUST have sex. That were all base animals.”

Yes, it is possibly to voluntarily abstain. Can be done.

Contraception is the very thing that contributes to the rise of abortion. Any attempt to thwart God’s natural order will not turn out well. The command to “be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it” has not been rescinded. Any thinking or practice to the contrary is prwcisely aligned with the evil one, who uses kies to accomplish the opposite. This is hard to take.

“What about neither abortion or contraception is a national issue, and shut up?”

Who decides what’s a national issue? The media. For their national broadcasts they need issues that attract a nationwide audience. Abortion is one of them.

“ Republicans need to consistently and firmly reject abortion as infanticide.”

Why just Republicans? Strong majorities in both parties are pro-abortion.

You are ill informed. The medicines in “contraception” also have uses in stabilizing a woman’s cycle and provide other benefits as well

Pretty much none of my business what a woman and her doctor decide she needs

Good for you. But it’s not just evil men preying on innocent girls.

For a long time, the very strong desire/need of young men for sex has given single women the power to choose, to flirt, to attract, etc.

In a healthier time, men did not expect and women were not burdened with the expectation that the answer to every “will you” was “yes”.

This gave both sexes “room to maneuver”, if you will.

The current sexual Stalingrad has eliminated this room.

Women who do not provide what is expected, essentially on what amounts to demand, are discarded. Yes, feelings and emotions are still in the mix which accounts for the increasing hostility between the sexes.

But sex on demand creates the need for abortions, and it’s foolish to think you can change the effect without changing the cause.

Make the compromise: If Mom’s life is in danger at any time either abort or birth the viable kid; No voluntary abortion once the baby is viable—PERIOD; Conceived by rape justifies abortion in first trimester. After that, too late.; Every woman (not commie trash, remember—they cannot define woman) will accept this. That takes this off the ballot as an issue.

I would not be confident that "every woman would accept this". The democrats, corporate media and education industry supporters will paint what is a reasonable abortion position as an infringement on a women's right to choose and restrictions that will "kill women". I have little confidence in the republican party effectively countering skewed and evil democrat arguments.

Sadly, we are living in times when too many people are self-absorbed and easily misled. It reminds me of how the vast majority of Germany people were misled by news outlets fed by Goebbels and the Nazi party.

If the republicans would present what you call a compromised view, they would also need to hammer home the callousness and evil of democrat uncompromising demands for unrestricted abortion, which now included killing babies after birth. Republicans would need to prepare to address democrat controlled news networks and public networks like NPR and PBS, who refuse to air the republican side of the abortion argument.

My suggested approach - you don’t make it illegal BUT, HUGE BUT, we show every 16 year old girl the graphic details of abortion during sec education. I don’t just mean pictures. I mean video. I want them to see the reality of a 4 week, 8 week, 6 month, etc. baby being dismembered. I want them to see the obvious struggle, what it really looks like when you crush the skull to suck out the brain - and then the resulting chopped up parts.

We had to watch "Red Asphalt" and "Wheels of Tragedy" as part of our driver education classes.

The boys should be made to watch these films you mentioned, also. In a separate classroom. They have been persuaded by popular culture that sex is physical entertainment and not the sacred creation of new life.

Young women these days have to navigate very treacherous waters when dating. Courtship (dating with a definite goal of marriage in mind) seems to be pretty much gone. The contraceptive/reproductive bulimia mindset has been baked deep into our popular culture.
