FORT WORTH - "My son had a lot of dreams and he was so talented," said Latoiya Landers. "I don't get it."
Landers' 14-year-old son Devin Baker was shot and killed Thursday morning after allegedly attempting to break in to a home in the Rosemont neighborhood. Now, Fort Worth police are investigating.
Police say they were called to the 5200 block of Southcrest Ct. in the Rosemont neighborhood of Fort Worth early Thursday morning for a call about a prowler. When they got there, a woman told them several people were attempting to break into her home but they had left the scene.

“When they got there, a woman told them several people were attempting to break into her home but they had left the scene.”
Poor traumatized woman. Not one, but a group of kids were breaking into her home. Glad she could protect herself.
Meanwhile, my 14-year-old son wasn’t shot and killed on Thursday morning, because he was at home in bed. I wouldn’t say he’s talented, but he’s a nice boy most of the time, and he has ambitions to be a soil scientist.
The headline is very deceiving. It sounds as if a homeowner, out of the blue, murdered this kid. And then you read......
accountability is not a concept these feral underdeveloped brains can understand.
guns were created so that when criminal thugs break into our houses we wouldn’t have to find out the hard way if the criminal thug would have killed us or not
Where was the father; maybe he had no dad; fartherless boys go to crime more often than boys with dads.
So given the neighborhood I am guessing the women is black as well. Probably older. A fourteen year old should be in High School. And this boy could easily overwhelm most older people, especially women.
But there was no broken window or bullet hole that we could see in the house. Which means this case may go against her. He would have to have broken into the home. Or at least opened a locked door or window. The video does not show that. So what will happen is difficult to say.
Not quite talented enough sorry to say. He needed to be quieter so as not to wake the armed homeowner.
Surprise, surprise, surprise. One less potential democrat voter.
Oh, he’ll still vote.
The ENTIRE COMMUNITY celebrates criminality.
This, from government employees at a government school:
In a letter to the Rosemont Middle School community, school officials extended their sympathy to the family and said their hearts were heavy after learning of the death of a Rosemont student.
Really? Not even a hint that burglary is a bad idea?
Yeah, yeah I know it's Photoshopped.
They are congenital criminals. Look anywhere they exist in the world; higher rates of murder, robbery, rape and violent crime.
You have to admire the work ethic of the son of Obama starting work so early in the morning. /s
Apparently his talent did not include B&E because he failed really badly and his dreams were about taking other people's stuff.
You should have taught him, "leave other people's stuff alone. They are fond of it and not so fond of you."
This is all on you.
The surnames never match, because mama don’ need no baby-daddy hangin’ aroun’ ... jus’ gibs me dat chile s’pport.
“I want to give the mother the benefit of the doubt.”
I give her no benefit of the doubt.
It is highly unlikely this is the first time her kid did this.
It is equally highly unlikely that the rest of her kids are squeaky clean.
He got shot last week doing the same thing.
As a juror, I will not convict anyone of any crime in connection with taking out the trash.
