38-year-old woman decides she wants a baby, claims she’s been ‘betrayed by feminism’

A woman said she felt “betrayed by feminism” after deciding she wanted to settle down, have a family and a husband as she approached 39th birthday. At one point during the interview with Fox News Digital, she broke down crying describing how she feared she would end up alone and childless.

Melissa Persling recently wrote an essay for Business Insider titled, “I’m 38 and single, and I recently realized I want a child. I’m terrified I’ve missed my opportunity.” She said after it went viral in November, hate began to pour in from men telling her that she’s lived a selfish life. Persling has a much different account of her story.

When Persling was 22, she married a traditional man and moved to a rural community in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she grew up.

“He wanted a simple life with children and home-cooked meals,” she said. However, Persling – despite coming from a religious Christian background – made it clear to her husband-to-be that she did not want children.

“At that time I felt very strongly I did not want children, that I wasn’t going to be like the traditional housewife. I knew I did want to pursue a career,” she told Fox News Digital in an interview. “And I felt very strongly that that would never change. And I guess I was wrong.”

Persling said both her and her ex thought that love could conquer everything, but after 10 years, it was clear their differences in life goals were irreconcilable. Persling said she became resentful when he would ask for dinner or for his laundry to be done.

“I did little to hide my disdain for our small-town life. He was a good and hardworking man, but I don’t think I made him feel that way,” she said.

Watched a really good (long) video from a woman who researched the history of Feminism. A couple of takeaways:

1. From all the research she did, she could not find evidence that most women even wanted to vote, as women feared that would lead to the same expectations as men (including working outside the home and military service).

2. The leaders of the Suffragettes were MEN, specifically the corporate leaders that financed the entire movement (along with help from Socialists/Communists).

3. The reason why corporate leaders wanted women to leave the home and join society was because they represented a HUGE, CHEAP, labor force (sound familiar).

4. The reason why Socialists/Communists wanted women to leave the home and join society was so they’d have access to whatever kids they still had (and we all know what they did to our kids).

My sympathy cup has gone dry. No need to blame the feminists for her selfishness. She made the choices. All the joys she squandered untasted, the marriage barren of children and of the strength of commitment are the results of her embrace of her focus on self rather than life.

“Persling said she became resentful when he would ask for dinner or for his laundry to be done.”

Why did her husband find the washing machine so difficult to operate?

I certainly wish the best for her but it seems some peoples’ purpose in life is to serve as a cautionary tale.

As usual, there is much criticism of this woman, and she deserves some. But there is also hope. I know people who married for the first time in their 40s and had no kids, but had each other. Now that she is wiser and humbler she may find a man who is also ready to try again.
Me and my generation have a number of women who were told they would not be respected as mere housewives. We were selling ourselves short if we did not use our gifts in the workplace.
When I gave up practicing law to stay home with our first baby, I was relieved not to have to be responsible for two different worlds. The people who mattered to me were supportive, but a few people thought I was unnecessarily throwing away a good career.
Instead of anger and derision, try saying a prayer for this woman’s healing. She is a prodigal daughter who is on the verge of coming home.

TikTok stories like this woman’s screed generate about as much sympathy as the story of a Powerball lottery winner who is bankrupt five years later.

From 30 to 38 she was single. I’ll bet she has had more dicks in her than an LA detective agency.

On the road map of her life, the choices and decisions she made directed her to a destination where she thought she would be happy and fulfilled. She chose the path to Unhappiness.

When you meet a young person who’s behavior and values are clearly contrary to Darwinian law ( which BTW when analyzed carefully is consistent with most religous traditions), it is almost guaranteed that by the time that person reaches middle age, they will be thoroughly miserable.

Well, I can certainly cook, using the washer and the dishwasher. As a guy, that’s hard to find sometimes.

Now....don’t be talking to me about cleaning.....at least in general....

BUT I’ve used a vacuum cleaner if that’s good for any points.

LOL

Young men: Go abroad. There are many truly feminine women out there. In the most popular countries (usually Eastern Europe or SE Asia) the women are on average WAY WAY HOTTER, much more pleasant and they don’t hate men. Go to YouTube and search for passport bros. Good luck.

“He was a good and hardworking man, but I don’t think I made him feel that way,” she said.”

She made him miserable in spite of and because of his efforts. And he missed out on up to ten years of being a Good Dad.
His song, “You Don’t Know How it Feels” to be me….
