Ron DeSantis admits human activities drive climate change

Florida’s Governor is again recalibrating his position on climate change, per a new interview in an Iowa newspaper.

The Des Moines Register reports that Ron DeSantis is admitting that human activity is one of a “variety of factors” driving the phenomenon — a fact reporter Katie Akin notes that he’s been reluctant to admit.

“DeSantis’ own stance has changed: During the first GOP presidential debate, he did not raise his hand when candidates were asked if human activities are warming the planet. But in the Dec. 9 interview with the Register, DeSantis said he does believe human activities are a factor in the changing climate,” Akin observed.

That is about the same or identical to Trump in the past.

Agreed. I take both DeSantis' and Trump's statements about the climate as the equivalent of , "Eh, I haven't given it any thought because we have real problems to focus on."

[[Ron DeSantis admits human activities drive climate change]]

I see he’s caved to pressure from the idiot faction of the socialists of America

also note that they said he ‘admits’
as though it was an established fact that man is causing the purely natural cyclical warming trend we are in- They will say of others “So and so Denies the facts that man is causign global warming”

Yes, he's now officially desperate.

Time for his handlers to throw in the towel and TRY to regroup for '28. Too late, IMO.

DeSantis then said the only reason he is able to run for prez is due to his white privilege.

Next he’ll be calling antifa an “idea” and he is transitioning to his “true self” as a giraffe.

“In 2009, Mr Trump actually signed a full-page advert in the New York Times, along with dozens of other business leaders...”

You TDS robots are unrelenting.

Trump signed, or someone in his huge operation?

Which is more revealing, signing the worthless letter or withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate change accords? Which impacted the national life?

How far in the past?

Getting the USA out of the Paris Accords speaks louder than words “in the past”.

I like DeSantis. I would not vote for him right now for POTUS.

Whether or not that makes me a DeSantis “supporter”, who gives a shit?

Yes, there is a human derived component of “Climate Change”, but it pales in comparison to Mother Nature.

For all the Tards who proclaim that humans have no influence, get your head out of your posterior and realize that asphalt roads and cities are heatsinks, so there is some effect there, like it or not, along with some pollution from burning coal. Doesn't mean we have to stop it in its tracks, but at least we can make sure that we manage it to tolerable levels like we've been doing for many decades now!

That does not mean we throw our rights away to the whims of these assholes proclaiming we must return to the dark ages to save humanity as that is an obvious crock of BS.

We keep our “pollution” to a minimum, which is actually reasonable as we don't want to return to the smog and smoke that was making our cities choke around 100 years ago. If you can find some pictures from that time before we started cleaning up our act, our pollution was worse than China's currently is as far as the atmosphere goes.

Human activity probably does effect climate - by about .001% of a degree every century or so, or some other absurdly small amount.

DeSantis’s political career is finished. Thank God he exposed himself before 2028.

a fact that can’t be proved...is not a fact at all...it’s nothing more than a notion.

Then why didn’t desantis say that?

Because desantis didn’t acknowledge climate change was real before...

Now desantis believes there is climate change, and people contribute to it.

So which desantis do you believe is telling the truth about what he believes, and how can anyone tell when he’s telling the truth, or lying to deceive people?

You need to educate yourself on what is happening. You are confusing pollution with CO2 levels. The heating of the climate is blamed on CO2. CO2 is not a pollutant. You are mixing apples and oranges. Some true pollutants are green house gases but the main climate "ENEMY" is CO2 because the only way to cut CO2 is to not burn at all. It is a power play.

His political suicide continues to gather momentum.

He's doing the Democrats' work for them of destroying the 2028 Republican frontrunner.

I'm not confusing anything. Just because I'm not being specific doesn't equate to needing to “educate myself”.

Do you understand the concept of “Indulgences”? This is where the CO2 play headed, but wasn't completely effective.

They've previously tried to pin everything on CO2, but when they realized that the “hockey stick” graph was ridiculed endlessly and that there was a general public understanding that plants need a certain TRACE GAS (CO2) to live and grow, they went back to the drawing board and put out additional claims that these other gasses, such as methane, nitrous oxide, and CFC's, were also guilty of “Climate Change”. If the volumes were comparable to what Mother Nature generates, there would be some case for caution, but that's besides the point currently.

Yes, a trace gas previously below 400 PPM but now averaging around 417 PPM (I don't trust them at all with any of these numbers). CO2 is typically a lagging indicator of temperature rise on the planet. Yes, I'm aware of more about CO2, but enough.

Do you remember how bad pollution used to be in the US before we started policing our manufacturers? Some of those older pictures looked worse than Beijing on a bad day as far as smog and pollution goes.

My quote that you pulled was not about WHAT is effecting “Climate Change”. It was put in to point out that we in fact can have a deleterious effect on the environment if we're not careful.
