more government is the exact opposite of common sense, it’s common nonsense (something we’re used to with the Democrats), and his little stunt is going to yield worse haircuts that cost more—after all, that’s exactly what’s going to happen. The state demanding additional “training” means more costs placed on the stylist to procure the necessary training and licensing, costs which then transfer to the consumer; and it also means that a stylist is now expected to be a “Jack of all trades” which precedes the reality that… they’re “a master of none.”

> people with all different hair types can pop in for a haircut anywhere, and expect trained staff <
This is just more government interference in private business.
But it’s good news for this guy, I guess.

So lawyers and doctors and engineers can specialize but hairdressers can’t .
Unbelievable .

And once again I point out that there is NO reason (except for state revenue enhancement) for the government to be issuing licenses and permits for any of this.
We went for all of human history without the government regulating our hair care and somehow survived.
The difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is two weeks.

Will I be able to finally sue when the lady cutting my hair says that I can’t have bangs just because my hairline is now around the midpoint of my head?

How about a law that requires all restaurants to serve all cuisines so people can go anywhere to eat what they want?

He told Allure magazine he often runs into scenarios where he’s not in his neighborhood but in need of a quick tape-up or shape-up I'm calling BS. Needing a barber or stylist isn't all of a sudden like having to find a bathroom. You look in the mirror and PLAN to go to your barber or stylist.
In any case it's total government overreach. Like passing a law requiring Ford mechanics to be trained on Teslas.

Fans of Click and Clack’s NPR Car Talk may remember that “Urgent (desperate) need of a haircut” meant a need to find toilet facilities, and find them fast.

In other words, blacks segregated themselves and refused to service white people, but those same blacks are terrible and other blacks hate their work. So, NY thinks white people, whom blacks were racist against, must now service those blacks.
Screw that.
