The Supreme Court has indicated it will expedite consideration of a petition by special counsel Jack Smith on whether former President Donald Trump can be prosecuted on charges he plotted to overturn the 2020 election results.
The Court has asked Trump’s lawyers to respond to the special counsel's motion by next Wednesday, December 20

And buys into rush-rush to get Trump.
Wow.
They are also playing into the narrative that Jack Smith is King - and should be given whatever he wants.
A Week!
Should be 6 weeks. Minimum.
.
The Supremes have declined to intervene or recognize Trump’s Privilege - and I said if a Prosecutor had questioned one of Joe’s staff - the Supreme Court would absolutely crushed that in an Emergency order.
Wow is right!
You are mistaken. SCOTUS is simply asking for briefings on whether they should take the case. I think it is highly unlikely they would take this case. These are two substantial issues which deal with presidential immunity, which means that the Supreme Court would want appellate judges to weigh in first. Everybody in DC legal circles knows that the trial judge is deliberately trying to speed up the case.
That’s not enough time. Supreme Court jumping at this smoking ahole’s request is not good.
I write briefs for a living. Just now, I needed more time than this on something much less weighty.

Your last sentence is correct - everyone knows what he is doing.
All they needed to do was tell Smith, as they have Trump, take the long established Judicial route. One Week?
One week - absolutely crazy, and telling.
Traitor Roberts is traitoring again.
Obama has something on Roberts.
An epileptic Chief justice,,,,,
The Supreme Court refused to hear any 2020 election fraud suits brought before them, claiming the petitioners had “lack of standing,” so what “standing” does Jackoff Smith have to bring any 2020 election petition before them now?
The issue is whether the SCOTUS should take the case. This is not a sophisticated issue. The cases the government cited in seeking certiorari are completely different than a criminal trial that could easily be continued. I don’t see the Supreme Court taking this case without first giving the DC circuit a chance to rule.
.
The motion shows Prosecutorial abuse!
His entire motive, as was the raid, is to prevent Trump from being President.
Abuse of the Justice system.
.
Did the Supremes expedite their “Investigation” of the Abortion Ruling Leak?
Yeah, that was easily predicted, too.
