The opening of a new Marie Stopes International (MSI) abortion facility in Cancún, Mexico, reveals what may be a new strategy for the abortion industry: “abortion tourism,” in which women are lured by the idea of a luxury vacation while their preborn child is killed.
A recent article in Mother Jones refers to this tourism with the euphemistic phrase, “reproductive health migration,” detailing the price breakdown for a woman traveling from Mississippi to Cancún for an abortion. Estimations place the cost, which includes three nights at a three-star hotel, at around $700. The article points out that while this cost is not insignificant, it could still be cheaper than traveling for a surgical abortion in the States.
“You have a lot more direct flights to Cancún than to any other city in Mexico,” Araceli Lopez Nava Vázquez, regional managing director of MSI in Latin America, told STAT. “That was an important thing for us to consider… We’re aiming to help more American women.”
According to The Messenger, the MSI facility will commit up to 15 first-trimester D&C abortions a day. During this abortion procedure, the preborn child is suctioned from the womb and is torn to pieces in the process.
Alison González, operations manager for the pro-life platform ConParticipación, spoke to ACI Prensa about the facility’s new opening, especially as it is being positioned as an opportunity for women who want to get an abortion while on vacation. “It’s unfortunate that instead of addressing the crises that many pregnant women are going through, companies seek to profit from the pain and desperation of many women,” she said. “It’s easy to imagine that Cancún could be an ‘ideal place’ to receive American women where, for a cost similar to what they would pay to travel to another U.S. state, they can travel to Cancún, romanticizing a terrible deed such as an abortion procedure.”
“The idea of paying a few hundred dollars for a round-trip flight, a few days of lodging in an all-inclusive hotel in addition to the procedure to have the abortion is extremely attractive,” she added.
Brilliant comment.🤩
Simultaneously women from Mexico travel to the US to give birth to live babies.
Was in Mex City last month, went to archeological museum where an ‘indigenous peoples’ sacrificial stone was displayed. Was about 12-feet across and had a channel carved across the top to allow the copious amount of blood to flow away before the next victim was put upon it.
Got that image into my mind when reading the headline.
The problem with making anything legal, suicide, abortion, drugs, trans surgery, is that it immediately creates and industry. Industry, no matter the type, is marketed and MUST grow to survive. It immediately starts lobbying for special laws to support it, so whatever it is will likely be covered by insurance, or special programs for “the poor” or politically connected minorities or subsidized. Intense advertising drives psychologically vulnerable people who would never have used this service to suddenly realize they can’t live without it. “Influencers” take up the call. Last I looked Dylan Mulvany, The Bud Lite Guy, and clearly a disturbed man, had over a million young followers on just one platform. If just one percent of them decide they need to become women, that’s a lot of ruined lives. All because it’s legal.
Cancún
Cancun is an exotic location in terms of both landscape and wildlife, and its name is translated to mean “nest” or “pit of snakes.”
For those who don't know, Marie Stopes was the UK equivalent of Margaret Sanger.
Two things...when the regret for the abortion shows up in the murdered babies mother, she will associate a vacation with heartache and regret. May never enjoy another vacation again. Especially if the mother is never able to conceive again and sees happy families with children while on her vacations.
They better have a full fledged hospital nearby, specializing in post abortion consequences.
I’m surprised the American Indian tribes have not started this already.
Great. They can travel to a resort to kill their babies. Maybe they can get frequent traveler miles to go back to Cancun to get pregnant again.
Don’t these people realize just Who they will ultimately answer to? The baby isn’t theirs anyway. Just on loan from God. So sad. The ones promoting abortion are just as guilty.
Yep. Quite the lifestyle: “Oh, it was great! We went snorkeling, hung out on the beach, drank margaritas all day, and I got a fantastic deal on an abortion!”
A Mexican abortion mill? Not satisfied with the 50% mortality rate at US abortion mills they aim for 100% mortality!
Keep in mind, so far abortion is winning 100% when the issue comes up for a vote via a referendum. Even in red states.
Thus this is why I cede the issue to the Left.
Great idea. I can hear it now: “Come to Cancun! Have a few complimentary drinks with little umbrellas in them, then off to the doc to make yourself look good in a bikini again.”
reproductive health migration....like the hotel california....your kid can go but never leaves

Mexican doctors & medical facilities. What did they used to say about back alleys and coat hangers?
