President Joe Biden’s immigration crisis is hitting home in an all-new way.
For border state residents, of course, the long, national nightmare has been ongoing since before Biden took office. More recently, Democratic-run cities like New York and Chicago have felt the pain.
Now, upscale homes in what used to be considered safe neighborhoods are getting a taste, too. And one dangerous piece of technology is playing a role.

My ex- husband’s family in 80’s / (early 90’s was the divorce) owned a security company- I trusted them- they started out with a very reputable Franchise, that as most franchises- that part- it ended sour. But they legally were able to carry on. They were very knowledgeable. EVERYTHING at that time was hardwired- With backup. And happened instantaneously- it was all very secure. I have since NEVER trusted wifi systems- wasn’t logical to me. HOWEVER- you will be hard pressed to find ANY reliable alarm company that will hardwire any more- particularly post construction. Which leaves you with a dog and personal protection. Which is great- unless someone in household is hard of hearing, slow, debilitated, or wears glasses to see. We’re just *ucked, no 2 ways about it. I am sorry I have to be alive for this *hit

I’m addressing an overreaction to the following statement I made upthread:

It’s rough seeing the generations get weaker and take much for granted.. They have so much, compared to my generation.
My father landed at Normandy each. I saw video of those young men in the boat, quiet, fear, knowing Germans were on the hill and the young men had to run to shore... Trying to get as many men past the bullets.
Instructions were to run for your life.. Do not stop to help anyone..
Some did not make it. But there was no thought of not following orders.. The men who made it spent the next cold rainy months across France.. Digging foxhole to rest in.

The funny - not ‘ha-ha’ - thing is that every home still has a hard wired demarc box run to the house (which is required by law in (every?) states to provide 911 service whether a live landline or not. Meaning that every home that’s not ‘off grid’ has the potential for secure monitoring.
If our legislators gave a rat, they’d require a very low fee for alarm system monitoring, rather than the high cost of having a full-service landline (plus taxes). Besides, you’d think that all the baby bells would want that revenue stream from ‘dead’ demarcs.
Somebody with some clout just needs to push the right buttons, but I won’t hold my breath...
Border town resident here. Haven’t seen anything like this. How common is it? Are we talking a dozen or a hundred people with these devices?
I agree with you. Why don’t they work on their own country to make a better life instead of expecting someone else to support them. Our military risks their lives fighting wars where their own civilians run away.
Fix your own country.
Our forefathers shed their blood to make this a country where we could have a better life.
