Global emissions have risen by around one per cent each year since 2010 Scientists say that global warming of 1.5°C (2.7°F) is now almost inevitable By
The world's carbon emissions hit an all-time high in 2023, a new report has revealed.
Scientists from the Global Carbon Budget Project found that 36.8 billion tonnes of CO2 were released into the atmosphere this year - an increase of 1.1 per cent compared to last year.
To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, emissions will need to fall by a whopping 8.9 per cent each year, experts say.
Lead researcher, Professor Pierre Friedlingstein, says that efforts to cap emissions have been 'painfully slow'.
The scientists now believe that global warming of more than 1.5°C (2.7°F) is almost inevitable.
Even as the world's leaders gather to discuss climate change at COP28, the study found that emissions due to fossil fuels rose year on year.
However, the total increase was not distributed evenly across the world.
The largest total increases came from India and China, where carbon emissions rose by 8.2 and four per cent respectively.

Pretty astounding. Where does it all go? If there could only be a scientific way to find out...
These disgusting, thieving, rip off artists are pretending that China did not drop out of their bullcrap climate agreements. China is out out out Gonzo! China dropped out last July.

China Abandons Paris Agreement, Making U.S. Efforts Painful and Pointless -— Jul 26, 2023
It was a bad week for anyone who thought China would cooperate on emissions reduction. President Xi Jinping reiterated that his country would set its own path on the issue and not be influenced by outside factors, according to the Washington Post and Bloomberg. This contradicts Xi’s 2015 Paris Agreement pledges to reduce its carbon emissions at the latest after 2030.
Xi’s remarks came while climate envoy and former secretary of state John Kerry was visiting Beijing to reopen a dialogue. This was shortly after Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived, and just before former secretary of state Henry Kissinger, the architect of opening China to the West 50 years ago, came for a visit.
The clear signals from China are a deliberate slap in the face to America and provide a rationale for a bill sponsored by Representative Chip Roy (R., Texas) to defund Kerry’s climate-change office at the State Department. The bill is cosponsored by over two dozen other House Republicans.
This should not be news, because Xi gave the same message last fall. In October 2022, he said that China would not abandon coal-fired power plants before renewables could substitute for the lost fossil fuel. But this substitution will not occur because fossil fuels generate substantially more energy than renewables.
>>> EPA’s Power Grid Assumptions Are Disconnected From Reality
“Based on China’s energy and resource endowments, we will advance initiatives to reach peak carbon emissions in a well-planned and phased way, in line with the principle of getting the new before discarding the old,” he announced in an address to the Communist Party Congress, as reported by Time.
Xi’s remarks should resound in the halls of the Environmental Protection Agency, which is planning to impose billions of dollars of costs on Americans to reduce U.S. emissions. China has repeatedly stated that it has no intention of going along with the Western push to net-zero.
In April, the EPA released a proposed tailpipe rule that would require 60 percent of new vehicle sales to be battery-powered electric by 2030, and two-thirds by 2032. And in May, the EPA proposed a power-plant rule that would require most power plants to sequester, or bury, 90 percent of their carbon emissions, or go out of business by 2040.
These rules would result in tens of billions of dollars in annual costs to the U.S. economy—and with no reduction to global emissions, if China replaces U.S. emissions with its own emissions.
Even if the United States were to get rid of all fossil fuels, this would only make a difference of two-tenths of one degree Celsius in the year 2100, according to Heritage Foundation chief statistician Kevin Dayaratna.

As the world sizzles, China says it will deal with climate its own way
July 19, 2023
China has surpassed the United States as the world’s largest greenhouse gas emitter, and approved the construction of dozens of coal plants last year even as it added more renewable power.
China would pursue its commitments “unswervingly,” but the pace of such efforts “should and must be” determined without outside interference, Xi said late Tuesday. Xi’s approach marked a break from the 2015 Paris climate accord, where a Chinese-U.S. agreement paved the way for the international goal of keeping global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) above preindustrial levels.
Still, Beijing made it clear that domestic concerns would shape its approach to energy. China’s world-leading emissions totaled 11.4 billion tons of carbon dioxide in 2022, according to the Global Carbon Project, a decline of less than 1 percent from 2021 levels.
Xi’s message — delivered at the same time Kerry was in town — was no coincidence, according to Li Shuo, a senior policy adviser for Greenpeace East Asia. Xi was showing that “China will decide its own path in achieving carbon goals and will not be ordered about by others,” he said.
It is all a hoax. Ignore this BS. Don’t play their game. CARBON DIOXIDE IS NOT A POLLUTANT.
All I know is that, “We’re all gonna die!”
Stop it. You responses are predicated on the idea that CO2 is a real threat to humanity. That assumption is BS. Again stop it.
Here is a much better way to report.
Global Plant Food Emissions and Supplies Are Increasing. The Greening of the Earth Continues.
Of course CO2 is not a pollutant. But the global warming crowd does this in order to confuse the sheeple with the real pollutants. Such as industrial wastes dumped into rivers. Such as burning coal the dirty way the Chinese do. Our coal burning power plants use advanced tech scrubbers.
Meanwhile it was just announced that an electrical utility will be closing down 3 coal burning power plants.

Nò wonder why my plants are doing so well.
Hey, wait! Ain't fossils rocks? Or career politicians like Biden and Pelosi and Schumer and McConnell?
I guess all the anti-pollution devices we’ve put on cars and the increases in gas mileage since the 70’s have had no effect?
Let’s assume it’s true, which it’s not, but just for the following arguments sake:
We pass more restrictions and ultimately TAX folks (the true reason government is on board with this nonsense) for CO2 emissions in Western nations and then simply buy everything made in China where these restrictions don’t apply.
Amazon (>70%), Walmart (>60%), Target...
This is a farce.
Here’s a methane emission around the 30 sec mark

“I guess all the anti-pollution devices we’ve put on cars and the increases in gas mileage since the 70’s have had no effect?”
Internal combustion engines have greatly advanced since the days you would hear about the awful smog and smog alerts in Los Angeles. ICE are being improved all the time for emissions and mileage. So why abandon them for EVs now? We have many years left of oil and gas reserves to explore and exploit and use in our automobiles and trucks.
Why! Due to ill educated Greenies who want everything including stoves and house/home heating to go electric. For some bizarre reason they hate hydrocarbons (DIRTY!) and love electricty buzzing around us everywhere including our cars.
OK everyone. Let’s go for 100 next year. I have a roaring fire in my fireplace now.
Pure BS from the climate cultist.
I wonder if volcanos are included in that number? Since there are about 25 erupting around the globe today. Just asking.
Two giant volcanic explosions and countless smaller ones ...
Of course it’s the Gauls of the west…just pay no attention to all the coal plants being built in Asia and the Middle East.
