A Maricopa County Superior Court judge rejected Kari Lake’s lawsuit request to view signed ballots of 1.3 million early voters in Arizona.
Judge John Hannah’s ruling, filed Thursday, denied Lake from gaining access to the envelopes in connection to the 2022 gubernatorial race that she lost to now Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs.
Hannah argued the release of the ballot envelopes and their signatures would undermine the ballot verification process for future elections.
“The broad right of electoral participation outweighs the narrow interests of those who would continue to pick at the machinery of democracy,” Hannah wrote.
According to the filing, obtained by The Arizona Republic, 84 percent of the ballots processed during last year’s general election cycle were early ballots. The County Recorder’s office was responsible for verifying the ballots. The office found 16,000 inconsistent signatures but later determined 14,200 of them were lawful voting citizens. The remaining 1,800 envelopes were never opened or counted.
Lake filed the case in April against County Recorder Stephen Richer’s office under the Arizona Public Records Law.
Hannah’s ruling said giving the ballots to Lake creates a “risk of widespread fraud where none exists at present” since the envelopes contain personal information like names, addresses and phone numbers of voters.

That ship has already sailed. SMH…
If you win fair and square there should be nothing to hide; it should lead to an in-your-face moment.
Most of the judges are on “TEAM EVIL”.
RE : The broad right of electoral participation outweighs the narrow interests of those who would continue to pick at the machinery of democracy,” Hannah wrote.
What about the broad right to know if the election the voters participated in was fair and honest? Why wasn’t that reasoning in the decision?
It’s the real ‘smoking gun’. If everything were above board then why not? If half the population believes there’s severe problems with our voting integrity then EVERYONE should be more than happy to review everything to make sure everyone has faith it.
Yet all they do is the opposite. It is, in itself, evidence of malfeasance.
Investigating fraud could lead to fraud! War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
One of the most fraudulent election counties in America with corrupt judges.
Of course. We cannot allow you to see the fraud!
This is important. There is never any fraud if you never look for fraud and THAT is the foundation of American jurisprudence. It’s kind of like in the Trump case in NY. In that case there IS fraud because someone looked and said, “Hey! This is fraud”. If they never looked then there would be no fraud. This kind of ruling is the only way we, as a nation, can achieve the political success of the model nations we aspire to such as East Germany or North Korea.
I see no need for a signature on the envelope since there is a label...and you sign the actual ballot INSIDE the envelope.
I did the little match test...less than 5 seconds...
Does Hannah understand that the failure to release ballot envelopes and their signatures would FACILITATE voter fraud?
Is Hannah assuming that the ballot envelope and signatures have ALL been verified? Is her argument to keep hidden a possibility fraudulent verification not highly questionable and irresponsible?
The FR election fraud denier, on this thread like white on rice...
Keep your fake government and its garbage "laws" far, far away from me, John "StoogeBoy" Hannah.
If you want a secret ballot, vote in person where you can show a photo I.D.
Got to keep the steal under wraps
Oh Bee Ess Judge Hannah.
Stick a fork in the USA, it’s done!
We can’t have her doing that can we judge?

Cheating is not a cog in the machinery of democracy.
Failure to properly validate the signatures is not a cog in the machinery of democracy.
Failure to properly audit an elections is not a cog in the machinery of democracy.
