The Brooklyn College Black-Jewish Jukebox Riot of 1970
Israel National News ^ | November 7, 2023 | Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer

I still am thinking of all the whining cowardly Jewish students at America’s elite private colleges, belly-aching “Mommy, the Arab and Muslim foreign students here and the non-Jewish “Jewish” woke progressive apostates on campus don’t like me. They are chanting Israel has no right to exist. They say Hamas rape is good rape, liberation rape. I am scared.”

snip

It was 1970. Every culture has its music, and so do American Jews and so do Israelis. The most popular Jewish and Israeli song that year was “Bashanah Haba’ah” (“Next Year”). Here is a version sung by the Christian choir of Bob Jones University. Here is Northwest Girls Choir. Fort Worden Festival. And here a classic Israel version, with English titles. I am sharing many versions to convey, as many readers already know, that this was a huge song in its time and has become world famous, sung even by non-Jewish choirs throughout the world. It was not “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”

It was 1970. The Jewish student group on campus brought a guest speaker, Rabbi Meir Kahane of blessed memory. Perhaps some readers have heard of him. These were his pre-Israel years when he was building a movement aimed at freeing Soviet Jews and teaching Jewish people to defend themselves in America’s urban communities. Rav Kahane spoke that day about Judaism and Jewish pride.

snip

There is a jukebox in the campus cafeteria, and it has only one Jewish song, “Bashanah Haba’ah.” We were playing the song the other day, and a bunch of Black students slammed the jukebox and told us we are not allowed to play that ‘Jew song’ anymore, or they will beat up anyone who tries to. My friends and I are scared and frightened.”

The article is worth reading.

(Aside: It also contains an explanation of who is a “Jew”.)

Wow, what a great article.

Money quote:

“Forget proportionality. Never again will the attackers live long to celebrate their attacks. Never again will Jews recoil in fear and terror. Like in Israel.

That is what is so particularly disgusting about the whining at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and U. of Pennsylvania.

No one cares about tears. The Caucasian power brokers who encourage Blacks to play the victim do not themselves ever play victim. They give crumbs to victims; but to the winners go the spoils. That is my contribution to Holocaust education:

No One Cares. People have their own problems.

How many millions did Pol Pot murder? No one cares.
Or how Stalin starved out millions of Ukrainians? No one cares.
Or what Putin is doing today? No one cares.
Or what Mao did? No one cares.
Or the genocide Assad inflicts on his own in Syria or the Ayatollahs do to theirs in Iran?
The homosexuals who get thrown off rooftops in “Palestine”? No . . . one . . cares.
People have their own problems. They care more about Buttigieg’s train wrecks in Palestine, Ohio than the fake “Palestine” in Judea and Samaria that Israel one day will liberate the rest of the way so that, from the River to the Sea, Yis-ra-el will be free.

American Jews should not look to Biden or Deborah Lipstadt, his useless joke of an advisor on anti-Semitism. Just bring some chairs on the way to lunch. Metal folding chairs are best for the purpose. And sing a Hebrew song live for them. Any song will do.

Then start the process of moving to Israel and use your talents where Jews fight back.“

While you’re right your approach to the problem is far too acerbic. People DO care about some of these things and a few care for all of them, but there’s a “tragedy saturation limit” most sane folks have like breaks are enforced at factory work.

For a person to be totally wrapped up in all these continuing injustices would render them too insane to be useful for anything, hence we have irony, humor and bad taste to preserve sanity in this insane world.

You’ve also got to consider how the humorless Left are gleefully using anyone’s postings anywhere in the past against them as a weapon when those old posts, PURPOSELY TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT, goes against their agenda.

RAv. Kahane was a great tzadik. I was proud to have worked for him in the Jews against Jackson years and up to his death. I wasn’t in New York when he was shot. Maybe it is just braggadocio on my part that I could have done anything to protect him.

I knew about the Cambodian auto genocide since 1975 as I read the “Reader’s Digest.” Hardly anyone cared. When the crappy movie, “The Killing Field,” came out, I was fit to be tied. A little late fellas.

I recall the libs being so faux upset about the Cambodian massacre until learning the communists were (ir)responsible. Then it was shooshed into their personal "dustbin of history" while they glommed onto the next outrage they could pin on those striving for sane and non-corrupt governments.

But we eventually got the brilliant dwarf actress Linda Hunt from that movie (playing a guy, no less) totally outshining a good cast on 'NCIS:Los Angeles". Randy Newman ("Short People") should live in fear that she may get around for a visit.

From the article ... the Arab and Muslim foreign students here ... say Hamas rape is good rape, liberation rape.
Also from the original article ... a dozen or a hundred or even a thosand Arab and Muslim foreign students who don’t even belong in the United States are chanting “Death to Israel” and endorsing Hamas Rape.

Oh really?

An attempt was made to keep video of rapes committed by Hamas terrorists off the internet. Some photos were posted to an image board during the Hamas massacre/raid/ghazwa. Here are web addresses for some of the Hamas rape images.

Important! WARNING: Violent and/or explicit images. Don’t access if you are of a sensitive nature. These images are horribly offensive.

Images c, e and f might be from the same Hamas war crime.

e. https://postimg.cc/LJ9GK7f2

f. https://postimg.cc/Vr252nVP

Hamas rape is war crime rape. Anyone who supports Hamas rape is a supporter of war crimes.

Further Hamas rapes committed, from sources other than the image board. The first is the quote from Trevor Noah that the hostage girls are being horribly sexually exploited. The others were listed as Hamas activities against hostages. Also the last image may be of some soldiers visiting or seconded to Hamas.

I remember it well. Somebody played My Son the Folksinger one time to many. Alan Sherman was a Great American but one play too many of the Ballad of Harry Lewis was the spark.
