My dad used to give blood to the Red Cross religiously and he had a collection of pins they used to give out for so many(gallons?) of blood. That is until he heard of the way they treated our soldiers(I forgot what it was as I was young and didn’t pay attention as I should.
He’d argue he’d never give them another drop of his blood and he didn’t.
Yep - the Salvation Army is the best one out there. The Red Cross is like AARP - a commie enterprise and it bribes folks with gifts to donate blood because it charges premium prices - even to the military for blood that was donated on military installations...
I won’t either. I remember in basic being marched down to a building run by the RC and they took my blood. They had a little cup of juice and a cookie afterwards. I was thirsty and asked for some water. The RC witch told me to get out.
As for the Guam thing, during a verified emergency, the government got me (from Okinawa) to California on a C-141 emergency leave. I paid the $64 standby fare from LA to ATL on a huge, nearly empty 747.
