Bible in a Year:
I love you, Lord, my strength.
Many consider Ferrante and Teicher to be the greatest piano duet team of all time. Their collaborative presentations were so precise that their style was described as four hands but only one mind. Hearing their music, one can begin to grasp the amount of effort required to perfect their craft.
But there’s more. They loved what they did. In fact, even after they had retired in 1989, Ferrante and Teicher would occasionally show up at a local piano store just to play an impromptu concert. They simply loved making music.
David also loved making music—but he teamed up with God to give his song a higher purpose. His psalms affirm his struggle-filled life and his desire to live in deep dependence upon God. Yet, in the midst of his personal failures and imperfections, his praise expressed a kind of spiritual “perfect pitch,” acknowledging the greatness and goodness of God even in the darkest of times. The heart behind David’s praise is simply stated in Psalm 18:1, which reads, “I love you, Lord, my strength.”
David continued, “I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise” (v. 3) and turned to Him “in my distress” (v. 6). Regardless of our situation, may we likewise lift our hearts to praise and worship our God. He’s worthy of all praise! .
Reflect & Pray
In what ways do you share your love for God with Him and with others? What might be standing in the way of your worship?
Heavenly Father, You’ve put a new song in my mouth. Please help my worship to express Your true goodness and greatness.

WOOHOO! Glad she made it, AND a house close by...NICE.
One of my neighbors just brought a full Thanksgiving dinner, and the neighbor across the street texted this morning that they will bringing me more food this evening.
Lots of great food today from nice neighbors who watch out for me.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Did you get enough to eat today? Lots of family and friends around?
I’m just starting on the plate a neighbor just brought. And another neighbor is bringing another one later.
We ordered a Thanksgiving meal to go from Cracker Barrel and it was pretty darn good. I can still taste and smell a bit.
I saw that you were doing something with turkey legs. Did they turn out well? Sounded good as you were describing them.
Did you enjoy your turkey legs and deviled eggs, or have you even eaten yet? :-)
Cornish Game Hens. You always come up with interesting, tasty holiday meal ideas. Yum!
Howdy, luvie.
I hope you’re feeling better this evening!
Happy Thanksgiving, Theophilus.
I hope yours was a grand one.
It certainly was! God bless and FReegards!
Very good! Glad to hear it.
Hey there, radu!
I’m feeling a bit better....we both are....except for the persistent cough. That’s just a covid thing. Piper was afraid she’d gotten it, but she tested negative. Thank goodness. We’re still going to drive home on Saturday, but have cancelled church services because 5 more have gotten it, including our preacher.
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
I just took the turkey legs out of the crockpot. I always take off the meat, dark, my favorite, so I can have turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce.
I picked each one up and the bone came away clean as a whistle laving the meat on the plate. I was shocked.
The deviled eggs came out great, if I do say so myself. I even sprinkled paprika on them. They are not as many as started on the plate.
But I’m saving all my turkey for later. A couple hours ago an old neighbor brought me a full turkey dinner. And about 20 minutes ago Sean had his grandkids deliver another whole turkey dinner. They are really different styles, but both delicious. Half of each is going in the freezer. My turkey meat is in the fridge for sandwiches.
I will start my stuff with a turkey sandwich tomorrow for lunch.
Did you get plenty to eat with your friends? Everyone love your deviled eggs?
Oh no...more in your congregation have the ick? Hope everyone recovers quickly.
Enjoy the rest of your time with your family. Glad Piper is good to go.
Great time with friends and family and a ton of texts from friends
Those turkey legs sound great! And what wonderful friends you have that bring you a whole Thanksgiving dinner!
Piper’s boyfriend [yes, she has one. Boggles my mind! LOL] is supposed to bring us some kind of Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, which is when we were going to celebrate with my brother.
Now I’m hungry for deviled eggs. :)
I was very relieved she didn’t have it. I would have felt even worse about ruining the holiday for everyone. I think we’re kind of on the mend now. The last thing to go is the cough and it is giving me grief.
Bam!
