What if somebody is looking for a money launderer? You can’t put it on your resume if it’s been expunged.
Crazy...
Wow. What could possible go wrong???
One way to get more criminals into the criminal NY state government.
You know, I was saying to myself just the other day, “what this state really needs is more ex-cons in the work force.”
Filthy Michigan has that already. Proudly pushed by Whitmer to gain cheers from the criminals’ families. A Major vote bloc for the Dems.
It’s hard to imagine any business wanting to hire and operate under this guideline.
Annnd why don’t you have any work record the last 7 years ???
Oh yeah,I was in a coma for the 7 years.....I just woke up last week.....
What could possibly go wrong?
hoochie hates New Yorker’s...
Say WHAT?
You want some former pimp working with the vulnerable?
“larceny and vandalism” —Gee I can’t think of any reason a landlord should care about that /sarc
You know these tenants trash a place and then call health department or code enforcement who then goes after the landlord. And then any attempt to evict them results in the landlord be charged under “Retaliation” laws.
There is no point in being a landlord anymore. It certainly is not for small timers.
I anticipate no adverse repercussions from this stunningly brave legislation. /s
“What Clean Slate does is give everyone the opportunity to be a safe and productive member of their community,” one of the bill’s sponsors, state Senator Zellnor Myrie said.
A chance to be a productive member, perhaps, but not safe.
There’s nothing stopping the law abiding from attesting to the fact that they’ve never been arrested or convicted.
And it makes a great selling point.
If I needed a job or an apartment, I’d be happy to swear to that fact.
“So you have been in SUMMER CAMP (YEAR AROUND) for the past ten years?”
I am not entirely opposed to this. A mistake made while young shouldnt necessarily be hung around your neck for your entire life. As long as certain crimes are excluded.
“ Charges eligible to be sealed include misdemeanors such as disorderly conduct, larceny and vandalism as well as non-violent felonies like money laundering, insurance fraud and compelling prostitution.
Crimes designated as class A felonies like murder, predatory sexual assault, terrorism, arson and kidnapping would not be eligible to be sealed. That excludes class A felonies for drug possession.”
Records are still accessible to law enforcement and jobs that use fingerprinting.
Another WTF moment!
Our communist masters never have to worry about too much rattling of our chains...
The serfs always maintain their kneeling position and accept the continuing abuse...
there WILL be lawsuits when people die.
