Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida has filed an ethics complaint against former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
The complaint revolves around an alleged incident between McCarthy and Republican Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee that took place Tuesday.
In a news release posted on Gaetz’s website, the incident is described as an “assault.”

It wouldn’t surprise me to see McCarthy sporting a left black eye soon....his Masonic masters can’t be pleased with him!

Seems odd that Gaetz is making a complaint for something that happened to someomne else. It starts to look like a vendetta.
Frankly it sounds like something McCarthy would do.
Not odd at all. Noone else could hit someone and get away with it- (well, liberals can assault conservatives with no punishment, but). He’s simply filing for McCarthy to be held accountable for his actions. Had McCarthy not done what he did, gaetz wouldn’t be leveling a charge.
Everything about McCarthy’s speakership was odd. 15 rounds of voting to get in. Who does that? There was something unnatural about that.
It was a physical assault. Criminal charges could be pressed.
I listed to the NPR and CNN interviews last night on the Larry O’Connor Townhall show and it sounded like McCarthy merely bumped into Burchette and then the two reporters blew the topic into a big issue. With Burchette being the willing accomplice because of his voting against McCarthy as speaker. And now Gaetz is jumping on to get more publicity for himself.

What is your definition of a “rino”.
In my definition, Gaetz is the exact opposite of a rino while McCarthy is a perfect example.
Wish they’d all put that energy into fighting the communists in the WH who are destroying the country and pushing us into WW3.
Well he was plugged in to Paul Ryan, so what else can be expected. There’s another one just like him hiding in the Senate, John Cornyn.
It seems to me Gaetz is more than willing to pass judgement on the Speaker but no answer to who should be running the show. He also proves how Democrats stick together to advance their agenda while the Republicans always seem to have some Prima Donnas that torpedo their agendas. Even after the obvious fraud that went on in 2020 their answer seems to be “Move on nothing to see” and rub their hands together and say “Just wait till the next election. It will be a red wave”. I’ll bet the Democrats are already planning their actions targeting the 2024 election’s swing states they need to win in order to win.
