Hundreds of Jewish people headed to Tuesday’s pro-Israel rally in DC were left stranded when bus drivers staged “a deliberate and malicious walk-off,’’ a major Jewish organization said.
The “anti-protest” left a charted flight from Detroit — about 300 people — on the Dulles Airport tarmac for about 11 hours before being sent back home, causing them to miss the entire March for Israel event.
“I thought it was nuts, I thought it was crazy that we’re blocked from getting to the rally,” Jonathan Kaufman told The Post, adding that there were “frantic” calls to find out what was happening as they were stranded for hours.
“Our right to assembly is a constitutional right — and this was straight up blocking that.”
Kaufman and 900 others hopped on three private planes out of Detroit that were charted by the Jewish Federation of Detroit, which also booked several buses to transport the massive group of ralliers to the march at DC’s National Mall.

A third of the passengers weren’t allowed to leave the tarmac, however, after several buses failed to show up on the tarmac upon their 10:30 a.m. landing, according to a federation spokesperson.
The drivers had organized a “mass sick out” day to prevent Jewish ralliers from attending the much-anticipated march, leaving just a handful available to meet their obligations.
“We have learned from the bus company that this was caused by a deliberate and malicious walk-off of drivers,” the spokesperson told The Post.

They apparently were not permitted off the tarmac. Si e every time I travel the airports are filled with Muslim workers in the building and on the tarmac I find this to be an interesting bit of information.

probably something to do with Homeland security. dont want a plane of terrorist landing and walking off. where was the airport management in all this? the charter service? no one could find a bus in 11 hours? or was there more security paperwork?

the bus company should have its business license under review for harboring terrorists disguised as bus drivers.

Oh please, he’s just telling the truth. Western Jews have pushed secular globalism as much as any demographic. Of course there are some exceptions, but very few. They have played footsy with the political Left because they have hedged that it is in their overall best interest. The jury is still out on whether that is true.

You obviously don't get out much. Airports in the US, and other countries, have security and rules. If you had read the article you'd have known they were allowed off the plane for 3 hours to await replacement buses, they put back on the plane to wait. Walking around the tarmac would have resulted in justifiable arrests. Wandering around secure areas of an airport would even get BLM or palestinian supporters arrested. Justifiably.

Since the sponsors refused to name the bus company I assume they attempted to get alternate transportation and were thought blameless. I don’t know if that’s true, one would think a half dozen buses could be found, but the blame rests with the drivers who should lose their licenses and face whatever legal penalty exists. Which likely won’t happen. Anyone here on a visa requiring or barring work should be deported. This was clearly a political act.
Why were they not allowed to walk to the terminal, where they could catch the Metro?

Your childish scenario belies the truth. Airport security isn’t “breathing down your neck” as though moving is a danger, and those busses are not the only means of ground transportation.
