Manchin was all but “forced out” of his Senate seat by the prospect of defeat next year at the hands of popular Republican Gov. Jim Justice. Manchin had no chance of even making it to the general election. The democrats in his state now hate him even more than the Republicans do so he was almost certain to get primaried out.
Now he is just running for a talking head job on one of the cable news channels.
