Democrats in Virginia on Tuesday night retained their majority in the state Senate — a blow to Republicans who were hoping to achieve total control of the state legislature and boost Gov. Glenn Youngkin in his final two years in office.
The GOP also lost control of Virginia’s House of Delegates, with Democrats set to win at least 51 seats in the 100-member lower chamber.

Youngkin wanted to turn the Virginia State Senate and House red to pass a 15 week abortion limit. That was the single issue that was attacked as extreme and resulted in the Dems taking back the legislature. I admire him for the effort, but the lefts messaging on abortion somehow reaches their base and women and young people.
Or the Democrats cheated
My Delegate is a Republican in a previously Democrat seat. He ran unopposed. The Democrats chose which seats to flip and threw those elections. They knew they couldn’t win this one.
The best way to do that is have a lively primary season instead of calling for all debates to stop and everyone crown a winner before the first vote is cast and tossing about terms like "loyal" and "disloyal" and RINO just because. As I've said before, if I don't get my chance to vote against Trump and for someone else in the primary, I may not be able to support him in the general. We need to play by the rules, and any call to disband those isn't going to win my ultimate support.
Make the demand anyway.

I'm sure the dems are quite OK with our base believing that. That discourages voting altogether and we see how that worked out in Georgia that previously had two GOP US Senators and now has two DEM US Senators. I guess maybe it's 3-d chess of some kind, not sure.

You have identified the problem. America is now Amerika. The GOP, indeed “conservatism”, have failed. “ Our Democracy” has made voting moot. Whites are the nation’s greatest threat and are being rapidly replaced.

I lived in an urban area and voted in a diverse district. There was no one in line when I voted (rare) but they reported 92% voted. That’s why they always report late. That was in the 1980’s.
If Trump is not the nominee I couldn’t care less who it is. It wont mstter to.me that Biden is elected again. As long as they won’t accept Trump then MAGA will NEVER support you anti Trumpers. Looks like November 2024 will be another slaughter but if anyone can pull it off it’s Trump.
The loyalty to Trump is truly getting tiresome. Most of the country is sick of his circus show, won’t vote for him, won’t vote for anyone who is closely attached to him. But for his peeps, they’ll let the country go to hell before looking for a better candidate.

He might have gotten his wish if he had pledged to use a GOP legislature to repeal those awful California auto requirements and make public skrewels better, and avoided the abortion issue altogether.

I’m going to vote for him...but knowing he won’t win.
We need to drop abortion as an issue period. It’s a state issue. And let the chips fall where they may, we’ve got bigger fish to fry.
The abortion battle needs to be fought on a different battlefield.
