Schumer blasts Senate GOP border proposal as ‘total non-starter’
The Hill via Yahoo ^ | November 7th, 2023 | Alexander Bolton

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) says the package of proposed border security reforms Republicans unveiled Monday is a “total non-starter” that will only imperil the chances of passing money for the war in Ukraine.

He slammed the proposal for being largely drawn from the House-passed Secure the Border Act of 2023, which didn’t pick up a single Democratic vote in the lower chamber.

“If Republicans inject partisanship into otherwise bipartisan priorities, that is only going to make it harder to avoid a shutdown,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “A group of Senate Republicans released a proposal for border security that they want in exchange for Ukraine funding, and they know full well what they came up with is a total non-starter.”

The new Senate GOP proposal would require the Department of Homeland Security to resume construction of the border wall, reform U.S. asylum laws, crack down on the administration’s use of humanitarian parole to release unlawful migrants into the United States, and prohibit migrants from requesting asylum in the United States if they first pass through a safe third country.

And Schumer’s response is the exact reason that Johnson should tell him that the House is done on this subject. No negotiations with regards to the border proposal and if Ukraine turns into a hot, pile of rubble, it’s on Schumer.

The House passed that Secure the Border Act of 2023 which didn’t pick up a single Democrat vote.

But it's the Republicans who are "injecting partisanship"?

the House-passed Secure the Border Act of 2023, which didn’t pick up a single Democratic vote in the lower chamber.

Not very bipartisan of the prog commies.

Chuckles might want to get used to the idea of an EXCHANGE for Ukraine funding, also known as a "starter."

In the meantime his fellow Jews can put a IDF boot in Chuckles azz that will crack those glasses right off the end of his nose.

Keep it up, Chucky. Tell American voters just who you and your sycophants are, going into the 2024 elections.

Then just go a head and it down Chucky. No one at FR or outside of DC cares. What you are proposing is not a threat its a treat.

Just looked up Schmucky’s ancestral origins. “His ancestors originated from the town of Chortkiv, Galicia, in what is now western Ukraine.” Ha ha! Schumcky is a Yuke. His family were considered Eastern European Jews, and were despised and ridiculed by German Jews, both full, half and quarter ancestry. Did anyone from Schmucky’s family hide their Jewishness to serve in Hitler’s Waffen-SS Galician Grenadier Division? Wouldn’t that be nice to know?

They know they can’t control enforcement. We’ve seen that for about 11 yrs of Obama and Biden.

I think it’s just spend more money because the Fatcats and Biden love spending money, so instead of much, much less to Ukraine, they’re offering a bigger package that Biden won’t enforce.

Mo’ Money thrown to bureaucracy and Joe.

Lindsey Graham is behind this in the Senate - and if he’s not meeting with Biden at the WH, I’ll eat my hat.

Extreme leftist partisanship is the only thing UpChuck knows. Here’s hoping Johnson has the backbone to stick to his guns.
