He’s going to jail. If not for the back shooting, then the anchor shots will get him. He had multiple chances to leave the area and de-escalate

Jason Pass, the shooter, was previously arrested for robbery in 1992.
Noises of people- a family - walking around overhead on bare floors were bugging him. Wonder if some drugs were involved - he called the cops about the noise several times but each time they found nothing out of the ordinary going on, no blasting music or wild parties.
Guy who was killed with the kids was working two jobs. Probably not a good idea on his part to come out with scissors rather than call cops himself to tell them a nut was kicking their door, but then, his wife and kid was out there. Why they were first to face the guy though... not a good idea either.

Having actually been forced to sell and move out of a condo because of a neighbor who made so much noise we couldn’t stand it (and neither the cops nor the condo board would do anything), I have considerable sympathy for the shooter.

The shooters claim of self-defense (or any other justification claim) went out the door when he went downstairs.
Self-defense only works when we have fight outside my house. When we have a fight outside your house the burden of proof is going to be on me to explain why I am not back at home.
Regardless of other circumstances, the resident is hardly ever going to be seen as he initiator of conflict.
It seems like many people no longer have the intellectual and/or emotional capability to resolve differences non-violently.
I wonder … if … it has anything to do with “educational” (actually, indoctrinational) system. And maybe, abandonment of Judaeo-Christian morality.

I think it turned harrowing when the guy pulled out the scissors, which are certainly deadly in close.
The shooter should have stopped with brandishing the gun, because the potential scissors killer was exiting, as expected.
Should have been the end right there.
