Smart > Dumb

The sad truth is that some people in our party are stupid. Statistically, that is inevitable since the parties are about evenly split. When you have 50% of the population, you’re going to have a certain percentage of the idiots. Well, the Republican Party is undoubtedly statistically within the band of normal, because we sure have our share of nitwits. And I’m tired of them.

SNIP>>>>>

The reality is that we somehow managed to get a Speaker last January and that Speaker was imperfect. Kevin McCarthy was not the guy I wanted for the job in the abstract. He was not doing everything I wanted him to do. But you know what he wasn’t doing? He wasn’t being a Democrat. He was being an obstacle to Biden’s unilateral control over two branches of the government. And when you fail to win elections – I can’t even deal with people who are going to insist that we really won even though we didn’t, which I know because of who’s in office and who isn’t – you don’t get everything you want.

SNIP>>>>>>

This is why I prefer to win elections. Of course, winning elections requires that you do things that are consistent with winning elections. One of those is to not look like a bunch of clowns wrestling in Jell-O. The GOP can’t elect a Speaker because of a tiny minority of backbench tools, for a variety of stupid reasons, is working with the Democrats to ensure we can’t elect a new imperfect but adequate Speaker. How did this happen? Because a tiny minority led by Florida Beavis worked with the Democrats and tossed out our imperfect but adequate, Trump-endorsed Speaker. SNIP>>>>>

“...He wasn’t being a Democrat....”

THAT’S not enough...given the existential abyss staring us in the face.

Being an obstical is already a given prerequisite for EVERY Republican up there anyhow.

Republicans are looking like do-nothing clowns ... Republicans are making the Democrats look good!!

Only in your pathetic little mind. As it was with McCarthy they owned the Speakership anyway, for they got exactly what they wanted from stupid Kevin.

If we got the perfect speaker, that would be wonderful, but no one is looking for perfection. We are looking for one that does not enable the minority party with a helping hand in the negotiating process.

Since the Democrats are the minority party, it would require the help of Republicans to oust the new Speaker. Let them expose themselves as working for the Democrat Party.

Sometimes brave people have to do things that are unpopular with the crowd that doesn't know any better to create effective change. However, since you are a Canadian, why the heck is it of any concern to you? Oh that's right, because foreigners like you demand to butt into the business of Americans to fund the Ukraine conflict that you are obsessed with. BTW, your conservative party looks even weaker than the Republican Party, but I will admit the Republican Party reminds me of French surrender monkeys.
