Israel has delayed its ground offensive in Gaza and started negotiating with mediators for the exchange of prisoners. —Bloomberg
Netanyahu is heard to be rejecting radical proposals by his cabinet and opposition is pushing him to escalate strikes on Palestinians.
Looks like Trump was right (again). His “attack” on Bibi was just Trump telling the truth. He gets cold feet. If you listen to the rest Trump was urging him nit to get cold feet this time.
Forming a government of “national unity” with the left that hates his guts and was willing to support a real insurrection against his lawful judicial reforms may be Israel’s Achilles heel in this conflict.
The US, UN and EU will make sure there is no invasion. The MSM narrative is “brave Joe is standing strong with Israel” while behind the scenes he is kneecapping them.

I am all for the delay. From a USA point of view, all this war is going to do is provide for bleeding hearts and globalists to flood us with another million refugees.
But I thought they were really, really, really ready for the assault. So they’re back to just one “really.”
It looks like they are fighting Iran which is really who is at war with them.
You make a pretty good point. That said, it brings to mind the expression “then they came for my neighbors...”
Or it makes Bibi a running joke that strengthens those who would oust him from office.
We have NO idea of what intel the Israelis are working with
Hamas “ hostage release” really sounds like a nightmare. Not only are they cold sociopaths, the hostages are witnesses to the atrocities committed.
Hostage rescues might be in the delay mix. As well as actually fixing the identities and locations of individual terrorists.
Bibi has human lives in his hands, not a decision anyone commenting here ever had to face. His brother Yonatan died rescuing hostages at Entebbe.
They are going to do that anyway, war or no war, based on the destruction that has already happened in Gaza. Michigan needs more Muslims so it can become a permanent blue state.
He knows the actual threat is 100k actual Hezbollah soldiers in the north. They can deal with Gaza at their leisure, but the Israelis are avoiding the moslem big down in the south and invade in force from the north.
Smart
The incident I have in mind is that, eventually, the anger and eagerness to invade and eliminate will dissipate, hamas will agree to release hostages in exchange for a total stand down.
How do you give concessions to an enemy and then annihilate that enemy?
This is looking like a democrat-run war.
Agreed. This is a mistake. They should have gone in within the first 24-48 hours during the chaos. That is the best time to rescue hostages, before the captors have dug in and locked down.
But apparently there is a disagreement in the war cabinet over whether to take out Hezbollah at the same time as Hamas. No doubt they want to prepare with as much intell as possible, but at some point it becomes counterproductive. On the flip side Iran and its proxies have had months to prepare.
It would set a terrible precedent to delay for weeks or months while the hostages dribble out in ones and twos in return for ridiculous ransoms.
It’s always easy to second guess when you are sitting at home comfortable with nothing to lose and you don’t even have all the information available to others. Do better next time.
Thanks for showing us your cards with this stupid comment.
And the more time Hamas has to dig in and prepare for Israel’s ground offensive
So you don’t want my opinion (because of course not on the ground) but you want my money. Funny how that works.
Israel is waiting for U.S. aid and ground troops to arrive.
It's possible that the political wrangling going on here to make it seem like someone else (i.e., the U.S.) is stopping Israel from invading Gaza, when they really don't want to do it anyway.
