The Palestinians in Gaza voted to elect Hamas in 2007. Hamas is popular among them. Abbas won’t hold an election in the West Bank because he knows Hamas would win.
The Palestinians know very well what is in the Hamas charter - to kill the Jews and eradicate Israel. That is one reason why Hamas is popular.
If Israel eliminates the Hamas leaders, the Palestinians would just elect a Hamas II, if given the chance.
Why should the US be giving any aid to the Palestinians?
The UN is nothing more than an Israel-hating nest of filthy vipers. NO aid should head to Gaza, for any reason. It’s obvious that it would be converted to more attacks on Israel. Blinken and Biden screwed over Israel by demanding “aid” (weapons and fuel) be allowed into Gaza in order for Israel to get more missiles for the Iron Dome. This the conflict is guaranteed to be bloodier and more prolonged.
Remember when the Allies sent supplies to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan throughout the war? Because reasons?

The Palestinians in Gaza elected Hamas by landslide margins to govern Gaza. Hamas drove through Gaza streets with the bodies of Israeli men, women and children on their vehicles while Gazans beat the bodies with sticks.
Gazans are not victims of Hamas, they are co-conspirators in the murder of Israelis.

Israel is probably ok with this.
Israel balked at the aid for several days, insisting on checks to ensure weapons don’t go through. I’m betting Israel got most of those checks, which limits Hamas’ weaponry and ammo supplies.
Thes checks will surely slow relief, the amount of which is needed is staggering:
Just for water alone, going with the usually accepted guide for water needed, about 1 gallon per person per day, at roughly 6000 gallons per truck, and 2 million Gazans to supply, that’s 333 trucks per day. Just for water.
Israel controls water coming in from Israeli sources.
The idea is to draw civilians to the South end of Gaza. Then Israel has a free hand in the North end of Gaza.
What would keep Hamas from retreating into the South and melting into the population, I don’t know.
