At least nine Republicans so far have either announced their candidacy, have called other members about a bid, or are mulling whether to run. The candidate forum will be on Monday at 6 p.m., and the election process will begin Tuesday at 9 a.m., Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) said. He also plans to start voting on the floor on Tuesday.

The GOPe back one candidate, and the conservatives water down their votes by having multiple candidates. Happens all the time.

It happened in California in 1986. When a vulnerable Democratic US Senator was up for re-election, 12 Republicans threw their hats into the ring. Eleven of them were conservatives and one was a RINO named Ed Zschau (rhymes, appropriately, with Mao). The conservatives split the vote and Zschau won with about a third of the vote.
In the general election, many conservatives went fishing or voted third party, and some even voted Democrat. The Democrat won in November.

I am in total agreement with you. Now Bidung wants to spend another $100 Billion.
...... It will take a majority vote to actually confirm a new Speaker of the House which basically leaves Conservatives high and dry because it is an impossibility to garner enough votes to create a winning majority without the help of the RINO's and a few Democrats.....
